I've finally caught up in here...
With WW3 being so close, makes complete sense to have The Giant look as strong as he is. The over the top rope challenge main event did that perfectly here. Enjoyed the tension with Meng which continues to build with DOD after the unnecessary DQ's. Just well booked build really. Back to The Giant though, really happy with him and Hall being booked as the two most important guys in the build to WW3. Probably two guys who came in as big deals, but with Savage taking over, was a little concerned they'd get lost in the shuffle a little easy. Glad that's not the case.
Speaking of the Savage deal, a thumbs up on the execution and all that's happened since. Can't say anything but nice things about the angle.
The NJPW stuff felt like it was just sort of there and wasn't overly interesting me... Until this inclusion of one of my favourites, Scott MOTHER FUCKING Norton. I am intrigued to see how this 'war' against WCW goes, as taking out Sting feels huge. I'm excited for Sting/Norton, but I'm also curious how resources will be split between WCW vs. NJPW and WCW vs. DOD.
LOVE Triple Crown tbh. All three guys involved are awesome, waging war against veterans such as Flair and Arn is awesome, and well, Flair and Arn reconciling is awesome as well. Probably the feud I'm most excited for in this BTB at this point.
Happy you had Regal get a win back after he lost the tag match last week. Booking worked here for Regal to look good, whilst Disco loses because of Riggs/Wallstreet. I never thought I'd say I'd enjoy a Disco/Riggs program beginning, but here I am. From Disco making fun of Riggs' new robe, to the party at the same time as the business meeting, some real fun stuff here.
Judging by DDP getting surrounded here, assuming we might get an eventual triple threat with Page, Benoit and Sabu, which I'm all for. Page as the chicken shit champ who keeps JUST finding a way to keep the TV Title works well. Want to call out that I've enjoyed Alex Wright hiding Diamond Doll also, especially with Wright disguised as JL being a highlight. Looking forward to when Page and co finally find out, however not sure if there's more twists to this, with how Diamond Doll was uncomfortable with Wright's advances.
I marked for the Brad Armstrong appearance as well on this recent episode of Saturday Night as well.
Really enjoyable stuff as always.
