Agreed. But many casual internet-ers would have no idea, and I honestly don't think the "Oh well, was probably happening anyway, let's just roll with it" attitude is right when you have a government clearly trying to push the boundaries of privacy. Megaupload is a classic case of where the US Government just do what they want and ignore their own laws; same for the Julian Assange case.

People have theorised about this going on, no one has known for sure. There has been no proof available until now. Beforehand, it was another conspiracy theory that seemed likely, now it's a fact that companies you are inevitably going to use in some form can sell your information to a government begging for it.

People get fake tans, people know the long term risks of using fake tanning beds but still use them because it is easy and faster than laying out in the sun.
