Never heard of it, but believe me I am in a full scale panic now. Thank you for showing me the light.

The government isn't even overstepping their bounds because the Internet is the last frontier. So much of this shit isn't even regulated and people expect some sort of magical privacy from it. Newflash: The government invented the fucking Internet.

Those doubting companies Google, Facebook, Apple, etc., storing our information and selling it to the government, stop doubting, because it is indeed fact. However, Xbox's and PS4's being able to see into our households are not facts. It's common that situations like these tend to get conspiracy theorists hard, but let's not overreact. Though let's not under react either; said companies should not be able to sell our information to the government so easily. There has to be a balance, since billions of people get usage out of a Microsoft product, Apple product, Google Product, or Facebook, and the large majority of them have no idea their information is being sold to the government.

You can play the "I've done nothing wrong" card, or the "So what, they have my phone number?" card, but this is a clear breach of privacy regardless if you have done anything wrong. It's also hilariously hypocritical that some US politicians don't want gun background checks, but do want phones/emails tapped. Also it exposes the Obama administration quite a bit as well, and he now apparently "welcomes a debate" on something he has kept secret for years.

Who is doubting? I'm saying who gives a fucK?

also who ever said that anything on the Internet was private? I don't understand why people were operating under that false sense of security to begin with.

It is not about that... As I said... Yes, they can see and do whatever they want with the stuff on the web but NOW they have to see everything. Its not a matter of just looking for terrorism or stuff like that, they are going to be looking at people doing everything and storing it. That is the whole point.

Not saying you were doubting... I read people on the first page doubting Britanica and saying Wikipedia isn't a source and such. The fact is, this is fact...

Again, no one said anything on the internet was private. But nobody said it isn't as well. If you're investing your money into a product, or time into a product that makes the company money, then you have trust in them. You don't want your information sold to the government behind your back, or written in legal terms in the smallest font on word, or passed with another new legislation that doesn't get mainstream media attention.

This whole act goes against a few different amendments and people just don't give a crap & I don't see why! I mean you let them make small changes, they are going to keep chipping away at our rights till we have none.

Being a bit of skeptic towards your government is good, since it means you are pushing at them to do their jobs better. But you shouldn't go into full on panic mode either.

So it seems people should be mad at the companies selling the info, not the government lulz.
