I do tend to over react, I can admit that, but people need to stop letting things slide. This is going against the rights of US citizens and the worst part about it is, the majority of the people don't care at all or not enough.

Unless you're selling meth online or planning some sort of attack, I wouldn't worry. Believe it or not, the gov't isn't out to get regular people doing random crap. Americans have had strict downloading rules for years, so that hasn't changed. Just be a good law abiding citizen and you'll be fine.

And you think by making this thread you are 'not letting things slide' ? Don't sing it, bring it. You should be marching on Washington right now

Yes, I want crime & terrorism to stop but at what expense? People no longer having the rights to anything they say or do online or on the phone? Look at the kid being arrested for [posting lyrics on facebook... You will be seeing a lot more of that soon.

The whole thing's an awkward situation, the government could potentially benefit as they find vital information through this but it's also such a privacy breach.

The US law system is a joke to be honest, I'm British yet I still rage every time I read about the FBI using entrapment. Why do hardly any American journalists call them out on this like they called out Nixon in the Watergate scandal.

So it seems people should be mad at the companies selling the info, not the government lulz.
People are mad at the companies. The government have been doing this secretly for years and told nobody about it, and now it's public, they're welcome to debate it. Fuck that. I would be mad as hell if I were an American citizen right how. It's the principles, and not the actual consequences. Them having your information most likely means absolutely nothing to 99%, but it's still wrong that they can do this secretly in my opinion (and many others).

One person can make a small impact but having more people know about it can cause change. Also, if I go to the white house and protest I will be arrested and in prison for at least 2 years... They past a law for it 2 years ago. lol

Anywho, me working myself into a tussy doesn't help. Me caring doesn't help. The government controls every aspect of American's lives, it ain't new to me. My solution? Moving to Canada eventually
