One loss doesn't dethrone the chances of there still being superfights. Regardless... he is STILL Anderson Silva. The man that won 16 straight fights in the UFC, 10 successful and consecutive title defenses which both are UFC records. And he is still pretty much the best fighter in MMA.

One loss isn't gonna all of a sudden end everything there is about him and turn him into just your average fighter.

Silva appears to me to be the kind of guy that doesn't really give a fuck, judging from how he handled himself in that fight. Maybe (keyword: maybe, because nobody's going know the real reason) he threw the fight because he knew that there would be no challenge for him anymore, therefore no money will be made. I agree that it would be an odd way to jump weight classes, but the man's loaded and he knows that one fight isn't going to make a difference in terms of future payouts.

It's easy to be "pissed" when the fights are off the table and Dana is no longer pushing the idea.

The truth is that GSP, Anderson, Jones have all been content dominating their divisions and getting paid well for it. They have no true reason to risk it all in such a fight. A little more money? As I said just then, they're making enough as it is. Anderson always seemed more eager than Jones/GSP to make these fights happen, but that's probably because of his age. GSP & Jones can sit at the top of their divisions for years yet.

Roy Jones Jr? The problem with him is that he was always a really fast boxer but not really that technical and unfortunately, you lose speed as you get older turning a boxer who is really good because they're fast into an average boxer. Seriously, I was astonished that he lost, but he showboated like an ass hole and if you're going to do that you deserve to lose. Not everyone is going to fall into the same trap of coming at you and making a mistake you can capitalize on. Sometimes, the person comes at you and you just get knocked out. GSP/Jones could never happen because of the weight difference, it's too great. Silva can fight at LHW easily cause he's a pretty big guy and he walks around at LHW but GSP really isn't and he'd probably lose his edge gaining so much weight.

Yeah they off for now but Dana is all bout the money and he'll find a way to get something going. Most likely Silva moving up to LHW so he can look to get that fight with Jones going. And since Silva isn't middleweight champ it'd be easier. If Silva wants to make the move up.

GSP never seemed to really want to move up at all but rather stay at 170 which I don't blame him. He sculpted his body to that frame. To move up to 185 would take a long time to adjust.

But yeah... I think the time will eventually come when we will see Jones vs. Silva.

But as far as the Roy Jones Jr. vs. Silva... just... ugh. Surely it'd be better than Couture vs. Toney but still... just ugh.

Let's be honest, Anderson took the punches and threw the fight, there isn't much 3else to say. He finally made that division watchable again.When a champion is that dominant, you have to work to pump blood into product.Anderson dances, but he never does it that close in the pocket, Now Vitor can get his title shot, hell what about Wandy he has himself a nice win streak hotshot him to the ttle, as Cub Swanson pretty much said this shit is a populqarity contest, and the fans dictate the title bouts.
