Yeah the knee was legal Silva would've been Dq'd though if that knee hit Chael in the face. I'm disappointed that Chael lost, but whatever. It's not like Ben Henderson lost or something, or else I'd be on suicide watch.

If the roles were reversed, Anderson would of got till the end of the round to recouperate.

Stinks of bias.

That being said, wtf was that dumbass spinning back fist.

I do agree with this to an extent, but I think Chael causes all the bias with the same shit talk that makes me love him. Announcers were even so pro-Silva tonight, all they talked about was his excellent defense when Sonnen was owning him that first round. Rogan had to suck in his teeth every time he complimented Chael.

He wasn't really grounded though and the rules are no knees to the head of a grounded opponent. I take that as an opponent who is flat on the ground, not up against the cage.

I agree with the part about Bendo though, I'd be so disappointed if he lost. I'm still looking forward to a good fight between him and Edgar, but I want to see Bendo win.

And Silva's defense was good. Say what you want about him, but his defense on the ground was good. He held off Sonnen on the ground for 5 minutes.

Ryan, he was flat on his ass. If you put a hand down, yet your feet are on the ground, you're considered grounded and they can't knee you in the face.

Ryan, he was flat on his ass. If you put a hand down, yet your feet are on the ground, you're considered grounded and they can't knee you in the face.

After looking up the rules, I suppose I'll have to concede that he is grounded since according to the Nevada Athletic Commission a grounded opponent is any opponent who has more than just the soles of his feet touching the ground. Furthermore, if the opponent is only being held up by the cage or ropes, he is still grounded. So Sonnen is down, but look at the knee. Silva's knee hits Sonnen below his face square in the chest and that's perfectly legal. Watching it on the PPV, it looked like it hit Sonnen in the face, but it was definitely his chest. Silva won cause simply put, he's the better fighter.
