Plot Summary: "Total Recall" is an action thriller about reality and memory, inspired anew by the famous short story “We Can Remember It For You Wholesaleâ€￾ by Philip K. Dick. Welcome to Rekall, the company that can turn your dreams into real memories. For a factory worker named Douglas Quaid (Colin Farrell), even though he's got a beautiful wife (Kate Beckinsale) who he loves, the mind-trip sounds like the perfect vacation from his frustrating life - real memories of life as a super-spy might be just what he needs. But when the procedure goes horribly wrong, Quaid becomes a hunted man. Finding himself on the run from the police – controlled by Chancellor Cohaagen (Bryan Cranston), the leader of the free world – Quaid teams up with a rebel fighter (Jessica Biel) to find the head of the underground resistance (Bill Nighy) and stop Cohaagen. The line between fantasy and reality gets blurred and the fate of his world hangs in the balance as Quaid discovers his true identity, his true love, and his true fate.

Think Farrell is totally wrong for this role. Loved the first film, it was stylish, entertaining and stayed true to Dick's dark version. It was also a classic Arnie camp fest. Don't have high hopes for this one.

Main concern is they have removed the whole Mars subplot in this one, be interesting to see how they fill all the time.

I'm really excited for this. Probably one of the few movies I'm looking forward too most this summer. I saw the trailer one day at a movie, and it looked amazing. I'm gonna be seeing this for sure. I never saw the first one, or no nothing about it really, so I'm watching it with a clean slate.

Sounds like some things are staying true to the original, and I am glad a 3 breasted prostitute will still be in this one. Conan with Jasom Momoa was alot better than the Arnie movies, and I expect this one to be better too.

I'm pretty excited to see how this one fairs to Arnold's movie. I loved the first movie. And I do enjoy Farell's acting. So I'll watch this.

Kate Beckinsale is playing Sharon Stone's role, which is weird.

She doesn't strike me as the 'bitch' type.

The trailer I seen ended with a woman telling Farrell "You are gonna wish you had three hands", so I can only assume there will be.

Remake?! WHY?!

Destroyed reputation is destroyed. Why try to salvage it? All that's going to happen is people are going to go in there expecting it to suck because of the Arnie version, and then be disappointed because they can't laugh at it.

^ But the Arnie version didn't suck like you suggest the casting of him was very knowing which surely is a good thing. Besides that the dark vision of the source mateial was kept and there were much visual excitement to be had. This is a no go for me too at best I will wait for the DVD.

The original Total Recall was a classic, some people don't know or care about the source material.

Some people just like the movie.

Colin Farrell is a good actor IMO.

Don't have any problem with the cast or anything, only gripe is that its not set in Mars this time which is weird.

this is spot on.someone more charismatic with a slight comic touch woulda been great.ill get flac but i think jim carey woulda been great here.hes donedrama and obivouslycan do comedy.also another one ill draw flac for .ryan reynolds.he sucked as green lantern but woulda been perfect here.
