Hell, I can name five movies Harold Ramis was involved in that are funnier than The Hangover...

Animal House
Stripes
Caddyshack
National Lampoon's Vacation
Ghostbusters
Yes that is an awesome List and the Hangover would not have garnered as much attention of it wasn't for Animal House.
Okay I will say I only watched Avatar in it's entirely the once, so maybe it doesn't hold up on rewatch after the spectacle of the visuals is over, but I don't see how you can't enjoy that initial watch, seeing it for the first time.
The visuals make it great the first time around and after that then it gets really boring

But those are five of the most classic comedies of all time, so that's hardly an insult to The Hangover anyway. :p
The point being, every one of them is funnier than The Hangover, which I hardly think will be remembered in 30 years as a classic.

Are there any recent comedies that you DO think will become true classic comedies and be remembered in 30 years?

Yeah, I have never seen any of those.

The fact The Hangover won a Golden Globe shows its a good movie.

Although I doubt Fuji will be on the same boat as me but I would say American Pie will be one that is rembered

LOL, that's funnier than anything in The Hangover. The Golden Globes are voted on by the Hollywood Foreign Press and have nothing to do with the quality of the movie. More than likely the studio that backed The Hangover just paid a bunch of money to the association to win the award.

In regards to Swiny, I'm not sure, I'll need to think about it for a bit.

Just because you don't like the movie doesn't mean it's not any good.

Millions of people enjoyed the movie.

It's another movie that after the initial reveal at the end you can't watch again because it is all spoiled.

Sure, I'm glad lots of people liked it and it made a lot of money, there's nothing wrong with that. However, using the Globes as an argument that its good is pretty silly.

That was just an example of one of the awards it won.

Yeah, but it was a bad one. Then again, its not like using awards as an indicator is a good way to go at any time. I mean, How Green Was My Valley beat Citizen Kane for Best Picture but you'd be hard pressed to find a single person who'd say it was a better movie.

I'm just saying if it wins awards people must have thought it was a good movie.

Sigh, we're just going to go around in circles here. The real way to tell if it's as great as you say is whether people are still talking about it in 25 years. Obviously we can't say for sure, but I have my doubts.

In regards to Swinny's question before, movies I could see potentially still being watched/talked about in 30 years from the 2000's would be Old School, Superbad and possibly Wedding Crashers.
