This would turn into a pretty interesting story if true. Doesn't sound like it is though.

Of course, there is always the obvious frontrunner. It’s no secret that WWE considers TNA to be competition, seemingly one-upping the promotion by copying storylines and angles. It would be a simple move for WWE to buyout the company and re-use the invasion storyline, and maybe even locking in a potential Sting-Undertaker showdown for WrestleMania. Not to mention we would see all the typical DVD merchandise: “The Rise and Fall of TNA,” “TNA: Best of Bound for Glory,” and maybe even “The Very Best of Impact Wrestling,” starring Samoa Joe.

What rise? More like The Complete Fail Of TNA.

I find it laughable that they say WWE considers TNA to be competition. I've never seen any indication of that. The only time TNA ever attempted to directly compete with WWE they got blown out of the water in less than 2 weeks. I'm referring to the ill-advised move to Monday nights when Hogan first joined.

TNA could be a nice little company again if JJ got control of it. I might give it a shot then. Still though, it's no competition. I don't know what WWE would gain from buying it other than the opportunity to fire nearly 90% of the people and keep a few of the better wrestlers for development.

PS I had no idea why JJ was no longer involved with TNA. That is seriously fucked up. I know that all the time I enjoyed TNA it was under Jeff's direct control. I had assumed he was still a major part of it, but just not on TV. That explains a lot. I can see why there's all the disdain in this forum for Hogan and Bischoff, although I would say that the blame lies primarily with the Carter family. Hogan and Bischoff were hired and enabled by Carter. I am sure Hogan didn't have any diabolical intentions for TNA. Interviews I've read with him seem to lead me to believe the contrary.

So in your mind there is only one successful wresting company in North America in 2013?

ROH isn't as big as WWE, it must be a failure as well. PWG? bwuahahahah failurezzzzzzzzzzzz

Bischoff doesn't sound promising. Jeff Jarrett sounds like he could do some good stuff with it. WWE buying it would suck and they have no reason to buy it, Viacom would be nice I guess.

During yesterday's Pro Wrestling Dot Net Weekly audio segment (for members only), Jason Powell confirmed that there was a person that has serious interest in TNA. While the person wasn't revealed, they are described as someone fans would know and someone that may surprise them. This interested party has money behind them and was described as an intelligent person.

The way it was described by Jason, TNA doesn't have a "for sale" sign on it but they are listening to this potential buyer. One hang-up in this whole thing is that Panda Energy may want to retain a controlling interest in TNA which might throw the potential buyer off.
