Interim champion is just an awful idea, the title should be vacated and have people fight for it and when the one who vacated it is good to come back, have a match for it.

Anyway, although her run has been terrible, I like her, and always sad to see someone get injured. Hope she recovers.

How is interm champions an awful idea? It's a thing from UFC and tbh makes more sense to do than constant stripping of titles.

It’s the duplicate belt idea that’s dumb to me, just vacate it, have a tournament, whatever. Sorry, it was like 3am when I responded so I don’t think I worded it exactly well lol

My main complaint of the interim belt is that it doesn't count despite looking and acting as an actual champion and listed as a little footnote in the history. Like I know things happened differently clearly but most of us were expecting Punk to just beat Mox upon return, and man that woulda sucked for Mox not having that reign actually recognized when he was killing it all summer

So who is to say the current champion doesn't beat Rosa when she comes back like Mox did? If rumours are true, Rosa was losing the title this week anyway to Storm

I'm assuming that's the case and will happen but it's also not my point lol it won't happen every time will it?

Let me specify that I tolerate the interim title because it doesn't change much in on screen presentation, just in stats and how title histories are presented and they get to have their manufactured unification matches for boosts.

But just bc the UFC does it doesn't make it good lol Dana White is a carny fuck that will force interim titles just to get unification boosts too bc title vs title sells :lol and it also sucks when I see some of my favorites in the UFC only be "former interim champions" and not actual ones but I tolerate it there too

Like do you not agree that if Moxley would have lost to Punk it would have left a bit of a sour taste in your mouth bc he would still technically be a one time champion lol or are you normal and don't care about wrestling stats and that's only me?

For me, not at all. I can see what you mean but they all fake belts anyways so i dont mind interims havings runs until unification. Id say they 1/2 im aew . Sammy/cody was dumb. This one (punk) made sense to me. Rosa we will see how long she's out. I think its fine for 1/2 months. Longer is dicey for the reasons you gave earlier

Tbf I hate stat padding more so seeing some of HHH's and Cena's title reigns annoy me more as they are so pointless. It would have sucked slightly but I would still remember it so it would still matter to me if that makes sense. i see your point tho. The only one that was totally pointless was the Cody/Sammy one.

At the end of the day, pick your poison

2 belts where they get unified

Title gets dropped and new winner never beat the champ/champ never lost

Both have negs n pos but both lead to similar if not identical end games with the exception that with option b you can choose to never have the ex champ challenge the new champ

UFC's overuse of interim championships have devalued their titles and caused nothing but confusion for people who don't follow MMA religiously.

Half the divisions you don't even know who are the champions because of interim titles.

Isn't it ironic how there's more and more drama in this company while people are getting more comfortable working in WWE? I hope things get better in AEW though.

The business is all about peaks and valleys, eventually the honeymoon period was going to stop for Tony Khan.

You can't expect everything to be perfect in such a ego driven industry.
