Rewatching WM and everything before and after last night, I think I finallybrealize why Brock was the best candidate to end the streak. Who ever ended it, would be a life time heel. Brock can come and go as he pleases and every time he returns people will tune in just to pray who ever he is feuding with gets murdered in the ring. I don't think any full timer could bare the load of being a life time, all time most hated heel on a consistent basis. Plus, I don't think WWE creative would ever want to be so limited as to never being able to freely change someone back and forth from heel to face.

Great result but why Brock?

On a side note after RAW its good for Cesaro as he is associated with this via Heyman so good times.

Because Brock has a already established legacy. Had they given it to a up and comer there's no telling how it would go. Could just as well have flopped. Brock is established both in and outside of the WWE. He can handle it.

I know just of all the ppl over the years Brock just don't feel so great to me. But meh its done and Cesaro gets a rub of this via Heyman so bring on the coming year.

Was it just me or was there a little extra video footage to avoid showing CM Punks coffin on Takers entrance?

Nah - you're right. I almost missed it. They barely showed it going out of screen.

So after the Streak ends, does this really bring back the "anything can happen" atmophere of WWE?

Things are awfully pretty predictable, but this may have been the biggest sure thing in wrestling history. There was a 0% chance of Brock winning this, and he did it! In 2020 when we're bitching about Seth Rollins being such a stale champion, will we say "Yeah, but you didn't think Lesnar was going to end the streak, would you?'

It has indeed made me start buying a few more near falls here and there. :dawg:

The old saying "Anything Can Happen In The WWF/E" is actually the first thing that popped to mind when I read that Lesnar ended the streak. Vince used to say that a lot when he did commentary back in the day, and it never rang truer than when Lesnar broke the streak last Sunday. Then again, there's been a few things that have happened in the last few years that were once thought to be largely improbable (albeit none as shocking as the streak ending at the hands of Brock) - The Rock becoming WWE Champion again, Brock Lesnar returning, an Indy darling like CM Punk getting a long reign with the strap and getting to feud with the likes of Rock and Brock Lesnar, etc. And, of course, the fact that if you had said eight to ten years ago that Bryan Danielson would one day become WWE's most popular star and win the WWE Championship in the main event of Wrestlemania (the same Wrestlemania where the streak would end), you would have been laughed out of the room.

I've read a lot of people say that it restores their faith that Cena will not only turn heel one day after all, but that it could happen sooner than we all think (I don't mind Cena as a babyface personally, but it is something to think about...)

You're absolutely correct, Lockard. There's a lot of things that have changed that we take for gratned with wrestling nowadays. It's predictable from show to show at times, but not from year to year. The way WWE has changed to fit with the times has been phenomenal, lets hope they keep it up.

Off-topic but to touch on the Cena heel turn, I do agree that it's more possible now than ever, but not because of Taker as much as Bryan. Before the youth movement and Bryan push, a Cena heel turn would have resulted in Sheamus ascending to the role of top face which is simply unacceptable.

But right now, I'm not sure if Cena's character needs changing. A few tweaks here and there would be nice, but if Cena is going to be this "measuring stick" character, he'll make the perfect "heel" for all the young guys like Wyatt who are wanting to climb the ladder to the top while still catering to the kids the way he always has. WWE seems more willing to let the crowd just get behind who they want to get behind, so Cena can do some great work in getting those guys over. (if he doesn't beat them at WM and ruin the feud, that is)

The Cena heel turn? Dude, it practically writes itself right now. Cena wins the belt with the Authority's help to win, making Cena the "Real Corporate Champion" that the adult fans have seen him as for years. The dude doesn't even have to do anything and he'll be the most hated wrestler since... well... Hogan when he turned.

He'd have to be 2 months preferably removed from Wyatt family, or take a break after jobbing to Bray at ER.
