AR-15s are not all rifles, Smark.
You take away AR-15s and many semi-automatic rifles, that is still a massive log of bolt-action, lever-action, pump-action weapons, not to mention revolvers, handguns, hunting rifles, etc. etc. etc. would still be constitutional. Plus a provision of military experience would add an exemption to handling semi-automatic or even automatic weapons is more than reasonable.
I don't know why being burrow-headed like this is fine. Compromise is good, and my take on this is probably the best case scenario for both Democrats and Republicans. Not all guns are banned, Republicans will still have plenty of choices of weaponry to choose from, and Democrats will have the AR-15 legislation done. Additionally, military personnel can still have those bigger weapons.
What could be more reasonable than that?
