the difference is we have national laws and people respect them. we have national laws protecting people from the regressive bullshit the GOP does. its not the same at all, in fact. Provinces only have a say on certain things, such as how healthcare funds are distributed, certain policy etc. no actually your wrong, we do vote nationally for things that affect every province and province cant just decide to change laws because they want to be bigots all of a sudden

I wouldn't vote for a politicians wanting to ban every single abortion no. I'm willing to hear compromises on when they are allowed and what situations are instead of them being 100% legal in every situation. If beto wanted to ban every gun with no compromise this would be an equivalent

To be fair, there isn’t like there’s all different types of abortions(unless you count like after so many weeks) where they are a shit ton of different guns. But if you wanna go by weeks, then yeah I might consider voting for one of their time period is reasonable. I wouldn’t vote for one who says none at all no matter what. But say one said close to 20ish weeks, if the rest of their platform is good, I’d consider it.

You want background checks, that’s a compromise.

You want red flag laws, that’s a compromise.

You want better mental health screenings, etc.

Taking the actual arm from citizens and not those who shouldn’t have any them, isn’t compromise.

Bad faith actors who shouldn’t have guns can still kill 14 kids in a locked school with a handgun.

I was specifically talking about myself, and I know others who feel the same way as well. Just like I’ve known some Republicans who are cool with banning AR-15s. They exist, yeah maybe they are rare, but they are out there.

Every Democrat politician I know refuses to stand on a term limit. There is zero compromise on that issue.

The second amendment is like the first. It doesn’t actually exist if you continue to put limits on it.

It says “shall not be infringed” for a reason.
