CHIKARA will finally being returning after a wild few months (that you can read all about in a fantastic article by our very own LB here) with their 5.24.14 event.

Now, no word on any possible matches just yet as we're still settling from the National Pro Wrestling Day aftermath but we can start off with some bad news as to who won't be there as Tim Donst announced on Twitter he and Chikara have parted ways for the foreseeable future.

But hey, Chikara is back! Get into it.

It looks like they're going for an all out reboot, with new talent (well, those who started in the Wrestling Is companies plus some of the new Wrestle Factory graduates) so this should be pretty sweet in all.

Kingston vs. Icarus HAS to main event this show. There isn't a more perfect match to run.

Glad this is here. I'm watching all of the Ashes videos in order right now and then gonna watch NPWD from a few days ago. I feel like I'm not "getting it", though. I feel lost as I'm watching all these videos other than Icarus trying to bring back CHIKARA and that as each video ends, he seems closer and closer to finding the answer on why CHIKARA "ended" like that. At least that's what I assume.

I just wanna regularly get into CHIKARA and I'm hoping that it being reignited can help me with that.

It would make a lot of sense and be pretty perfect. Good to see some of the Wrestling Is guys will seemingly be around though. Something tells me no more FIST, Chuck seemed to want to move on in the Ashes videos (much like Donst) and Gargano hasn't been spoken of at all. Mantis has to come back though, right? Feud with Jacobs would be phenomenal.

Just watched the CHIKARA reveal. TREMENDOUS!! The crowd went nuts. Such a good brawl and segment. I think the reveal of Jacobs could have been better but other than that, it was excellent. Loved every minute of it and can't wait for the return.

I think Chuck may be back, CHIKARA had a tweet along the lines of "hosted by our own Bryce Remsburg, Chuck Taylor....." so I assume Chuck will be hanging around for a bit longer.

Gargano I don't expect will be back. It did always seem odd to me that the DGUSA champ was nothing more than a bit part player in CHIKARA.

Oh and Mantis was part of the crew disguised as Dr. Cube's minions during the brawl at NWPD so he'll definitely be back.

We posted at the same time so I didn't see your previous post! Lol, agreed on Jacobs though. It felt like we were supposed to have already known he was behind it all somehow with how little effort seemed to go into making his reveal feel important. I freaked out when I saw him the mask and figured it had to be him though. Perfect choice for the mastermind of evil professional wrestling.

I didn't even notice Mantis... I need to rewatch it. Great to hear about him and Chuck though, they fit. Gargano had become pretty big everywhere outside of CHIKARA before and now it feels like he's just too big on the indies to play a small role.

CHIKARA's website has a story recap section on their website that'll fill anyone in on the bare essentials of what's happened this last year. I recommend it if you're new to the product and need a catch session.

Of note, it confirms that the Camponato's des Parejas were auctioned off to the highest bidder, so there's question marks over whether they will be back, or if Pieces of Hate are still recognised as champs at this point.

If anyone is on the fence about ordering the iPPV return, it's 25% off until the end of today.

I don't blame you if your cautious though. There's been no matches announced and I'm starting to suspect CHIKARA are expecting this to draw on name value alone.
