Star Wars basically paved the way for all things sci fi. Although I love Godfather, Sci Fi is generally my favourite genre of film.

If it wasn't for Star Wars, nerds wouldn't be a coolish term. Special effects wouldn't be as good as they are now imo.

Star Wars singlehandedly took a niche genre and made it one of the biggest genres in cinema.

Godfather. Though I sense most people are just voting against it out of spite, which is fine. Regardless of the outcome, Godfather is easily the better movie and one of the greatest movies of all time. A New Hope isn't even the best Star Wars movie.

Any old trilogy movie is better than Godfather in my opinion no spite. They did more for the industry. They're more entertaining for me. You can watch them with the whole family.
