The Friday the 13th Discussion Thread

Taking a cue from our good buddy Citan, I thought it would be nice to streamline some of our favourite horror franchises into their own threads. So with that being said, here's one where we can all discuss just how much we love Friday the 13th and all the awesome stuff about it. I mean really, how can you not love Jason Voorhees stalking and killing hapless oversexed teenagers? The short answer, you have to love him and you have to love this thread too.

What are your favourite moments, kills, characters, films in the series? Go ahead and talk about them in here but I'd better see lot's of activity or this might happen to you..........

That gif there is the best kill in all of the Friday movies along with the one from Jason takes Manhatten wher he knocks the boxers head off.

I actually really liked the potato sack with the single eye hole from Part 2. I thought it was really creepy and though the mask is certainly more iconic, it worked well for what it was. I also really dig Part 2 a lot because wheelchair boy (I know his name is Mark but I like wheelchair boy) gets the machete to the head and its such a great scene. Poor wheelchair boy.

Oh and here's something I whipped up in honour of this thread, everyone's favourite nerd from Part 3D.....

I enjoyed A New Beginning. Reggie was the shit.

Favorite kill in the series would have to be that .gif, then the reincarnation in Jason X. Great stuff.

Fucking right man, Reggie the Reckless was so awesome. I'm glad SOMEONE else loves A New Beginning, its one of my favourites even though it gets little to no love from the Friday community. Well that the fuck do they know?

You know I've honestly never really seen all the F13 movies. Growing up I always just saw bits and pieces but I love them nevertheless! I actually saw a boxset of all the movies with a replica mask included on sale around Christmas time but left the store without buying it for some stupid reason.... I've vowed to buy it next chance I get though (the store isn't around here), I also passed up a chance to get the first 4 around Halloween.... All the movies are on Netflix though and I watched part 2 on Friday, I saw the original around Halloween time on TV. So now I've slowly progressed to 3! Still no Hockey Mask Jason for me though. Lol

Although there are some that I liked, they have never had the re-watch value that Halloween and NOES had. I can watch a few of them over again, but I couldn't make it through all like I could with the previously mentioned.

One of my favorite scenes in the Friday series is in Jason goes to Hell. The part where they are carrying his heart and it starts beating and someone eats it and Jason comes back. Gruesome yes but was not what I expected and this is aslo the one where he dies and Freddy's hand comes up at the end and grabs the mask. I love those two scenes but the actual film was not one of the best in the series though.

Just like I love when Jason gets upraged by the little metal ants in Jason X and becomes part metal and looks totally badass.

Jason X has more rewatch value for me than any others in the series. It wasn't a great movie, but it had some good kills in it.

Yeah my wife bought it on blue ray and she watched it once. She did like how he was killing people but her first foray into the Voorhees world was the remake that came out a few years ago so I made her watch the first 3.

She liked them but just hasn't watched the others yet without me, guess I work to much.

So happy to see so many Horror fans here, been a long-time fan since I was small I have a big soft spot for most of the Friday The 13ths, which I grew up watching and were my introduction to Horror. Seems a lot here are F13 fans, also. I go back and forth on part 4 or 6 as my number one favorite. I rank them as:
