The ironic thing here is NXT and more so WWE is already the character driven promotion and the finish he doesn’t seem to like was very story driven. Not only did they put the belt on the guy that is more character driven than he’s known for having supposed workhorse matches, but the entire finish was built around the stories going into the match. Ethan went into the match, having to plan to get the win no matter what. Trick proved himself, by essentially knocking out both Evans and Ethan, allowing spears, who went into this match, caring more about costing trick, to stop him from winning the match, which allowed the knocked out Ethan to fall on top of Evans, and luck into his win. A brilliantly planned, and executed finish that’s all about the story.

Amateur Wrestling is nothing like professional wrestling. Why is it suddenly incongruous that people wanna see good matches and good stories being told? The two are not mutually exclusive, my guy.
If you don't like a wrestler, don't watch their matches, it's not that hard...

The wrong guy won, he just got there!

I'm sure twas a wack take

Point being if u can't even handle the most popular and successful guys in the business being criticized by a minority of fans, I would not want to see what they'd be like having to endure to torrential shitstorms since day 1 from even louder more nerds w platforms lol

People have shit on my favorites for years. Just defend them and go on about your day but the solution isn’t to lower your bar and except workers who aren’t seasoned enough to even competently complete a match. Like again, no one is saying that trick has to put on five star matches. He could have a good character, that resonates with the crowd and put on three star matches and that’s fine as long as he is at the end of the day, good to the point where he’s comfortable in the ring. That’s it.

And to circle back. One of my all-time favorites is Jeff Jarrett, and that man has been the meme of the IWC for decades.
Lowering my bar wasn't the solution, I've always felt this way about pro wrestling.

You’ve always felt like it doesn’t matter if the people are professionally trained to be able to work a match?

I’ll be honest, I find that hard to believe.

If that’s the case, why don’t you just watch backyard wrestling?

Opinions are opinions. We just might disagree.

For the record, I agree with your general conclusion. I just don’t agree with how you get to it and how low your bar is.

Like me and you could probably both go in and watch a whole Hulk Hogan and Lex Luger match, and both agree that the match is fucking awesome when the rest of the world will probably be talking about how boring it is.

I just think though that both people should at least be properly trained to wrestle.

Don't you disrespect Lex Luger like that.

I’m literally putting him over but let’s be clear a good chunk of the world says he sucks. At least in 2024.
