Wrestling with Wregret is also pretty harsh on Luger. :pour
I would say he's always reasonably fair towards every wrestler. He's certainly given Lex credit for his matches and moments that are objectively good. I would find it hard to believe that anyone out there doesn't recognize that Lex was a really inconsistent worker, with several true gems and plenty of bad stuff to his name.

It's symbiotic. A great match is enhanced by a great story and set up to draw interest. A great story ends well with a top tier match n no one wants to watch a stinker (mostly no one). Ppl will cheer a dumb spot if they like the ppl involved. Ppl might sleep through a great match if they are expecting stars. U need both n u need to know your audience

Like I’m never going to watch a show and complain about seeing a good match. But if I’m watching a weekly television show the thing I’m probably going to remember most and will talk about most is if I saw a really good story segment. The emotional payoffs and promos or fights, that take place or a twist to the story, like what happened with Jack Perry attacking Tony Khan.

But then that story means nothing if it doesn’t lead to a proper pay-per-view, where we see that story told in the ring. So I like both. Which is why I said earlier I probably prefer WWE television but I prefer AEW pay-per-view, and again it’s not a knock on AEW television or WWE pay-per-view but I do prefer having more storyline segments on the weekly TV but more matches on and a longer pay-per-view.
Yeah, exactly. That’s kinda what I said in my followup, too.

Or I guess more accurately, Lex just often wasn't good enough to justify his position on the card. Times when he did deliver though, we're great.

Its okay. I forgive you.
I'm not saying Dolph was bad but he was so low on the card and they obiously cared so little about him that pairing someone with him was like booking someone on Main Event for two months.

That’s why I said harsh, but not a hater per se. It was also a followup to my bringing up Bios who I said sometimes puts him over to his credit, but usually doesn’t.

That’s the thing, though. I’m not saying Brian isn’t “fair” in his opinion, but I don’t view the work the same way. I mean, Luger once you get to when he put on even more muscle in late 1999 was immobile, but I mostly enjoy any match he has on TV in the 90s. I’m not looking for a banger from him. Just pop me and the crowd with his spots and his storytelling.

Now I’m gonna sound kind of like the gentleman who made the thread but I think anytime you’re over you justify your position on the card.
