The ending is a real missed opportunity. Loomis shooting Jamie would have been fucking insane and the movie would always be remembered for it.

I think not following up on this ending is the real missed opportunity. I think having Jamie "take" Michael's evil or curse was and still is one of, if not the most memorable ending in the franchise.

That's the perfect way of setting up the sequel too. Either way it works. The series ends with the crazy doctor killing a kid or it continues with a new unstoppable killing machine.

Halloween 5 is one the least loved entries in the series and I actually don't mind it. A lot of great bits to it and Jamie is back. I can't see any reason not to do this up tomorrow night.

Halloween 4 is most definitely the best sequel to Halloween and my personal favorite entry period. It's so well written and I can only imagine if there hadn't been a writers strike...
