Sheamus' downfall?

We all saw Sheamus job to Mark Henry this past episode of Raw. It was hard for me to watch because I have huge expectations for him and he was a former World Champion for christ's sake. Recently, he hasn't really been the type of monster character that he should be. I mean, I couldn't even take him seriously in the King Sheamus gimmick that he's recently been pulling.

What I'm asking is, do you think that this is the downfall of the Sheamus character and that it's not working to heat up the fans? Or do you think that this is just for Sheamus to build up anger so he can burst out someway or somehow and regain that scary monster status?

We saw him get in Daniel Bryan's face today so clearly he was pretty angry. My second option is the most possible at this point if you ask me.

It has been hard to watch since he deserves much better treatment than he is currently getting. He is a two-time former world champion and last year it seemed like he would be in the mainevent on RAW for a long time to come. He hadn't been booked well for some time and then he was booked to win KOTR and things have gotten worse since then. It just shows that WWE really don't care for the KOTR tournament anymore since the winner isn't pushed liked they used to be.

The current King Sheamus gimmick has just made him even worse. He looks like a joke in that cheap outfit and it does nothing for him. Think of what Booker T had on as part of his King Booker gimmick and compare it to what Sheamus is wearing now. The fact that Sheamus was losing matches to Santino recently and now Mark Henry shows just how badly his recent career has been booked. Although in saying that he was part of RAW's Elimination Chamber match for the WWE title but then again so was R-Truth.

His interaction with Bryan could be nothing or it could lead to a US title match at Wrestlemania. Sheamus needs an actual feud on RAW, it seemed like WWE were building him up to face Triple H when he returned but that won't happen now. If it takes him dropping down to the US title level to get a feud then that is fine since it is much better than what he is doing now.

What I think would be best for him is to move him to Smackdown. He has feuded with everyone on RAW and there is just no space for him in the RAW title scene. On Smackdown there are plenty of new feud options and he would get a spot in the mainevent there. It is something that his career needs right now.

I think he'll head to Smackdown possibly during the Draft and get some nice feuds and good airtime in there. For now, I think he'll get the anger that he has built up inside him and then attack Daniel Bryan in the weeks leading up to 'Mania. That sets up for a match for the US title at Wrestlemania.

He needs a solid feud to put him back on the right track.

I like Sheamus and am hoping this recent slump is more of a case of WWE knocking him down and rebuilding him. Sometimes that needs to happen, especially if the guy has backstage heat. Jericho was putting over Viscera (clean) on Raw not long before Wrestlemania 16, so there's hope for Sheamus yet.

Sheamus just has to sell these crappy Mark Henry beatdowns, pay his dues and get through it.

Sheamus has really grew on me and someone that is going to be in this company for a long time. He has just hit a small bump in the road, once he goes to Smackdown he will be a force to be reckon with. I am not concerned about him at all, can't be on top always.

Looks like a feud with Bryan may occur. I'd be cool with that. He is slipping right now but all his momentum is not gone yet.

I'm pretty sure that we will be seeing him face Daniel Bryan at WrestleMania for the United States Championship after what happened on RAW this Monday I wouldn't think something would be started so close to the show and not have a match between them at the event. It should be a pretty good match I would think and I think if Sheamus won the US Title it could really help him out so he doesn't have to chase the World Titles all the time. I'm going with him to win if the match does happen. I would draft him to Smackdown this year too if a draft is being held again and I think he will be ok over there.

Well Sheamus jobbing to Mark Henry kind of paid off for me when he got in Bryan's face. Plus, I don't really know if I would call it jobbing since Sheamus fucked Mark Henry up two weeks in a row, then he was in the elimination chamber which "is the most dangerous structure", then Mark Henry beat him. Easily this could be put off as Sheamus was feeling the effects of the chamber, since he did do quite well and took a beating. Like you said he's a former two time champion, maybe this isn't a kick to Sheamus' face but a Mark Henry push, which would surprise me.

Sheamus hasn't gone wrong yet, and I don't think he will. But on Raw he's not really used as the main event player that he is. I'm hoping that when the draft comes around this year that Sheamus heads over to Smackdown, where they are in desperate need of main event competitors.

I really like Sheamus. I liked him when he first started in ECW. His matches against Goldust were amazing. Then he was pushed straight to the WWE Title and wasn't built the same. Afterwards he took out Triple H, which would be a huge statement. But the only thing he did was 1 more title run that was built horrible. He was running away from Nexus every change he got and really never stood his ground. Then he jobbed to Orton every single match he got with him. I thought him winning the King of Ring would be a huge factor for him. Then they just made him into a comedy character. Now he just isn't the same wrestler as he was before. Losing to Mark Henry is a huge blackeye for him. I think he needs to go to Smackdown and rebuild himself over there.

I believe Sheamus should go to Smackdown during the draft and either team up with Drew McIntyre or have a feud. That'd be a sight I'd want to see!

If Shamus goes / gets drafted to Smackdown. I can see that being the right time to rebuild him as a face/ myabe by this time Wade will be WHC & Shamus comes & started a fued with Wade for a big match at SummerSlam

I read that Kevin Dunn doesn't like Sheamus and if that's true fuck you Kevin Dunn. His record in 2011 is 1-8 and I can't see why. Sheamus is a great talent on the mic and has in ring skills WWE have yet to allow him to use.

Yeah this thing about him having good mic skills is something that I just don't see, I find him very bland, and when he tries to play the monster role I just find him really goofy. So far I have not been that impressed with Sheamus, but WWE are just as much to blame for their booking of him. A face turn would be a step in the right direction, as I think he is more suited to be in a postion for people to cheer for him, rather than boo him. The feud with Daniel Byan should produce some results, and with DB holding the US Title for awhile now, and Sheamus in transition the title should be a good fit for him.

Sheamus got flattened in a big way on Monday. Losing to guys like Mark Henry is one thing, but to get insta-squashed by Triple H is obviously a message that something is seriously wrong with him.

I seem to remember the same thing happening to Kenny Dykstra. Remember how that turned out?

Kenny Dykstra never won the WWE title twice so Sheamus has farther to fall and more credits in the bank. I can't see it ending the way of Kenny. What this does remind me of is MVP, MVP never won the WWE title but he was very high up the card and then the squashes started to happen and he kept denying there was a problem but there clearly was.

Triple H destroying Sheamus made no sense since Sheamus didn't get any offense at all. It should have looked competitive but Triple H completely squashed Sheamus which is confusing since Triple H is meant to be one to build up the stars for when he is in charge.
