John Cena will be missing three consecutive WWE live events next month on 5/24, 5/25 and 5/26, and the company has announced that Shawn Michaels will be replacing him. Other talent scheduled for the events include The New Age Outlaws and Chris Jericho.

No idea how legit this is, I saw it on Twitta (source is Wrestlezone) and didn't bother to google it...

Has he got the itch back, or is it just a temporary fix off TV so nobody even knows he broke his retirement?

For what it's worth, those shows are in Canada, behind enemy lines for HBK.

Will just be appearances where he does a Superkick and that's it. Won't be wrestling.

"Behind enemy lines" my ass. Canada loves HBK. We just like to dig at him because of MONTREAL. It's fun.

It'll be great to see the guy back again. Can't wait to see what he does. Wouldn't mind a 1-off match if it happens, but not holding my breath.

Company has announced where? I've seen this on three sites they all credit Wrestlezone and they list no source. As said on the slim chance this is true he woudln't even be replacing Cena he'd be there in a non wrestling capacity. Its more likely they'd beg Punk, HHH, or Taker to fill the spot.

I doubt he's actually wrestling but he damn well should be. Fuck wrestling retirements.

I don't think he'd be breaking his retirement by wrestling a match or 2. I honestly think the kids would enjoy his style and his selling.

First off, it's live events, and the big names hardly ever do anything more than an appearance at house shows, and seconndly....How many interviews has he done talking about his retirement and how he doesn't want to break that......thirdly, Wrestlezone is hardly a news site and more of a forum.

But, he should come back, so everyone can be happy when it happesn, the talk shit about him after it.

Lol at people getting upset at a chance to see one of, if not the greatest wrestler ever (who could obviously still go) wrestle again. Really makes you question if it's 'wrestling fans' on here or just kids trying to sound really cool, unique, and rebellious. I really do honestly believe he'll be back someday, for a match or two at the most, or maybe I want to hope he will be (like Austin). I don't think he will wrestle at these live events like said, but he could do a street fight type thing like Ric was doing with Jericho. I can't imagine how he wouldn't even be slightly interested in having a match with Bryan or Ziggler.

People always want to romanticize wrestler retirements, because they think it's some sort of legacy that pro-wrestlers care about. "rasslin" fans are easily worked, and they will bitch about everything that might make them view their heroes in a different light.

People will mark the fuck out if HBK said he accepted a match from anyone, and will do a 180 after his match, and talk shit about him not constantly coming back, like Foley or Flair and cry about his sendoff not being special anymore. What a load of hypcrites who don't really give a fuck about wrestlers, and just want to be entertained. If they actually cared, they wouldn't mark one minute, only to bitch about it later, like somebody cheering on Honky Tonk Man at an indy show, and then talk about how sad and pathetic he was to be there.
