I think you have too much faith in the system.

Go through it sometime, my faith is almost nonexistant. My pride is what makes it all worthwhile.

She was old enough to know how to act in a court room. Show some respect and stop acting like trash. Its funny how everyone is sticking up for the girl. She shouldn't be acting like that in a court room, specially in front of a judge. If I was a judge and a cocky little teen girl flicked me off, I wouldn't stand for it either.

They asked her a question and she answered it. Then the judge started trolling her. She giggled, and he was butt hurt. 18 year old girls sometimes giggle. Clearly you have no soul if you take that fat assholes side. The entire adios thing was beyond pathetic. She clearly is hispanic and as Aids said there is a likely chance she speaks spanish with her friends/family or at least at times. So her saying adios was probably just a natural thing. He can say bye bye like a 4 year old but she can't say adios just because he doesn't like the tone? fuck that, he is overstepping his bounds by provoking her and then handing out ridiculous punishment when she reacts. He is a grown fucking man and she is a child.

I have no soul? I respect authority. I respect my parents. I respect my elders. That means I have no soul? Really, I had no idea that giving people respect meant you didn't have a soul. No wonder 90% of the teenage population pisses me off... Its because they have souls and I don't!

Regardless of what he said/does and I know there are people who over step their power and abuse it, she should have respected his authority as a judge and not acted like trash in his court room. He probably doesn't have the patience to deal with teenagers who think they know everything anymore.

But what the heck do I know! I don't have a soul! :pity:

Sure, she could have bee more respectful and kept her mouth shut but that still doesn't give the judge the right to act like a prick and do what he did.

Oh I know he acted out of line but still... He wouldn't have gotten as bad as he did if she didn't act out like that. He was wrong but she was wrong as well. Like I said, he is probably sick of dealing with them teenagers who think they know everything and think they are a bunch of hard ass'. She is 18 years old and was acting like a 12 year old. I am not saying it was right of him to snap at her but if I was a judge dealing with kids like that all the time, I'd get pissy too. lol Also, she is in a court room for a reason... Not because she was an upstanding citizen but because she did something wrong. To go into a court room with an attitude after having a previous crime, no matter how small, is just asking for it.

You clearly have no soul. She is 18 and probably grew up in a shitty family (stereotyping because she is in trouble with the law and hispanic) I'm sure you had a great upbringing to teach you right from wrong by the time you were 18, but not everyone is so lucky to be blessed by jesus with such great maturity.

Like Deth said she could have been more respectful, but it started off incredibly innocently, the judge ran with it and began baiting her and of course being a goddamn child she took the grown man's bait.

She thinks she knows everything? That's what you took from that? They ask her if she has jewelry, cars, homes, ect. She says yea she has jewelry and a car. They ask how much jewelry. She says a lot. He says how much. Is she supposed to know how fucking much $$$ her jewelry is worth? She probably doesn't even have a rough estimate. The fact that she said 'Rick Ross' just goes to show you how naive and immature she is.

Again, let me repost this and let it marinate with you for a bit.

There's a difference between teaching discipline and exerting power unnecessarily. He added $5000 to her sentence because she said 'adios' in a way that bothered him. That's the problem with the justice system, we give a stranger 30 seconds to assess who somebody is and give them a pen to sign away their future. Yes she was disrespectful but she is 18, probably? has a shitty life. A real judge would take the time to find the problem with her instead of just giving her ridiculous fines.

--

nobody is saying the girl is innocent of being immature, but goddamn the judge was just as bad if not worse.

::most condescending voice ever:: "bye bye" . Fuck him

Like I said, he over acted but she shouldn't have disrespected him like that. If she didn't he probably would have gotten talked to about his behavior but she acted out and to everyone else watching, she was at fault not him. I am not saying he did nothing wrong, I never did, but to act like that in a court room is just asking for it. Even if he was being a dill hole to begin with. She added gasoline to the flames.

Again, he is like 100 years old and she is an 18 year old kid. HE is the fucking adult HE is the fucking person in a very powerful position. He should not be dragged down to a pity 8th grade argument with a fucking child. He needs to respect the position he is in and act more fucking professional.

There is a court conduct that happens though, sure he played along like a child, but any other judge would have done the same thing. Just not in that childlike manner, which was sort of disgusting.

The question is would she have reacted the same way throughout if the judge had been acting more professional? No way to tell, so to me it is mostly on his head that this unfolded the way it did. He is the one that should absolutely 100% know better. An 18 year old girl? I'd say your chances of them being able to rise above an asshole like this guy would be slim to none.
