Idk. Rob Halford came out in 98' (I believe) and he's still in one of the most successful bands and one of the most respected men in Heavy Metal music. Going strong since 1970.
Then again, Heavy Metal fans aren't usually close minded and judgmental when it comes to shit like this (since a lot of us our outcasts so to speak, so we know how it is).
They are still known as Metal Gods, and so is he. Coming out didn't seem to change the band at all, obviously some people might have been turned away, but judging by their reputation, a lot of their fans and metal fans stay loyal to them.

Well it's not 2pac, lol. What makes the song special is the uniqueness of the lyrics and the topical content, that's about it. Music-wise, I guess it's not so great. Then again, "great" artists don't often rap about homosexuality. Gay rights doesn't have the same marketability as violence and depravity - nice world we live in, lol.
Rapping about gay rights isn't something I can relate to.

You're not supposed to relate to rap, lol. I love NWA but I don't wear my hair in a jheri curl and shoot police. :dawg:

But yeah, I see what you mean. Rap and gay rights don't exactly mesh, I guess.

And one more thing, I love how when people say an artist sucks, that they have to be gay. It's completely stupid, that's basically saying Freddie Mercury was a horrible song writer because he was gay. An artist doesn't suck because of their sexual preferences, they suck because they don't know how to make well adjusted music, and they are sellouts.
Freddie Mercury is amazing, this guy just fuck sucks.

Yeah, the's the same situation with One Direction. Either they all are or only some are gay, but the record company they're signed to has a history of keeping artists in the closet for whatever reason.
I've never once heard of a story that Simon Cowell made anyone stay in the closet. Smells like bullshit.

Gayest shit I've ever heard. Any artist that has to make songs about hot topics or big names (MGK Mac Miller) to make them-self, they ain't worth a single fuck of your time.

That's because he's to busy shit talking everybody. I swear, that dude is a shit talent search, and has no idea what to fucking do with talent after they win their shit shows.

I've never heard of him or his record company forcing anyone to stay in the closet.

EDIT: Not sure if Clay Aiken was told to stay in the cloest or what. That's the only one I can think of

Neither have I, but I couldn't care much about him. Would prefer if RATM makes that asshole humble again. It's usually between the band members, at least that's how it was for Judas Priest.
