Preshow

1. Ernie Osiris & Alex Payne defeat Ninja White & Ninja Yellow when Payne pinned White following a frankensteiner.

2. Vin Gerard defeats Grizzly Redwood with a roll up and grabbing the suspenders.

- Estimated attendance is around 250 right now. Though if last night was any indication, don't start writing ROH's obituary just yet.

Main Show

- Due to an ankle injury, Davey Richards is out tonight.

- Aries and Jacobs are fighting through the crowd. Jacobs has a chair and is assaulting Aries with it. Delirious and a new Age of the Fall member come to assist. That man is BRODIE LEE! Jacobs destroys Aries with a chain and the End Time.

1. Brodie Lee & Delirious defeat Cheech & Cloudy with a roll up.

- Rhett Titus is in the ring with a new woman (name not caught). Daizee gets in the ring and bitchslaps Rhett. Daizee wins a short match with this new girl.

- Prince Nana is in the ring! Security escorts Nana out once again.

- Chris Hero will now face Brent Albright later tonight.

2. Kevin Steen & El Generico defeat The Osirian Portal with a Swanton/Splash combo. Steen picked both men up at once and sideslammed them both setting up the finish.

3. FIP World Championship: Go Shiozaki vs. Necro Butcher ends in a double count out after both men brawled in to the crowd.

- Age of the Fall jump Necro after the match and totally annihilates him.

4. Brent Albright defeats Chris Hero with a Crowbar in a "really boring match".

After the match Albright is attacked by SNS Inc. Albright fights back and runs everyone off. He gets a mic and announces a STEEL CAGE WARFARE match for Final Battle in NYC.

5) The Six Man Mayhem is up. Richards is wrestling in place of Hero ... despite it being announced earlier that he couldn't wrestle tonight because of an ankle injury. Odd.

Davey Richards defeats Claudio Castagnoli, Rhett Titus, Jason Blade, Hallowicked, & Ruckus when he pinned Ruckus following a belly to back suplex. Claudio looked awesome in this match.

6. Tyler Black defeats Jerry Lynn with a Phoenix Splash.

- After the match Tyler took the mic and said the change begins with him, and ends with the World Title.

7. LAX vs. Briscoes is up*

LAX vs. The Briscoes
Results: The Briscoes win with a leg-drop/SSP combo.
Note from Bon: Homicide brought out Smokes. Homicide busts Mark open around the eye with a headbutt. Jay is bleeding from the nose as well. An awesome match.

The event sounded decent, although not the best. The Davey thing is weird, IDK what's up with that.

I think im am the only person not so hyped about Steel Cage Warfare at Final Battle. Most of the guys that would be in it, aren't really steel cage specialist, or hardcore wrestlers. I guess i'll have to wait and see. I would think the teams would be sometihng like:

Albright, Strong, Stevens + Mystery (Whitmer)

vs.

Hero, Richards, Go + Mystery (Pearce)

Kinda sucks about the Aries/Jacobs match on this show. Doesn't sound like much of a match.

Its not the talent involved in the match, its the fact that we had a Steel Cage Warfare not long ago. Seems a bit like overkill to me.

ROH 11/7 Show

Before the show it was announced that there has been a general rule change: Every match has a 20 count on the floor from now on.

Erick Stevens over Eddie Edwards w/ Shane Hagadorn & Bobby Dempsey via Doctor Bomb

Jay & Mark Briscoe over Kenny King & Kenny Omega when King bailed on Omega and is greeted and high fived on the ramp by Rhett Titus. Omega is then hit with Doomsday Device and pinned.

Necro Butcher over Brodie Lee via DQ due to AOTF interference. Nigel comes out, trash talks Necro and Montreal. Claims he is "The Best there is, the Best there was and the Best there ever will be" to HUGE heat!

Jerry Lynn over Delirious via Cradle Piledriver.

***INTERMISSION***

Davey Richards over Roderick Strong w/ Shane Hagadorn & Bobby Dempsey when Edwards hit Strong and Richards nailed a Tiger Driver for the win. Shiozaki joined for a 4 on 1 post match beatdown before Erick Stevens made the save. Strong and Stevens had a staredown and left seperately.

Bryan Danielson & Austin Aries over AOTF's Jimmy Jacobs & Tyler Black when Aries tapped Jacobs to Last Chancery. Jacobs blamed Tyler for the loss and both left without speaking.

ROH World Title Elimination Match
~elimination #1 Shiozaki pins El Generico with Go Flasher following a Nigel low blow on Generico.

~elimination #2 Steen taps Go Shiozaki with a Sharpshooter (!)

~elimination #3 Nigel McGuiness pinned Kevin Steen after a BRUTAL Jawbreaker Lariat preceded by multiple, great false finishes. Steen thanked the crowd in French and Generico spoke in French as well.

The results are typed up like shit. It took me a few times reading them to fully comprehend what in the fuck they guy was saying.

The best thing to come out of this show is the continued teasing of Tyler going single. Hopefully it happens. Tyler vs Jimmy would be awesome.

Well, after pearce's first booked show, ill give my 2 cents. I understand give him some time, and all that. But anyways, we knew his booking would be put under a microscope, so here it is.

I guess it makes sense for King to bail on Omega, as i kinda thought he might. But why go out of his way to sign up for the match. It doesn't make complete sense with his cocky attitude, and looks just like there was a hole on the card.

Necro vs Brodie, in a regular wrestling match??? and it ended a DQ huh?

Jerry Lynn over Delirous....i just don't like lynn. I dont mind wrestling, but why have him go over the younger guys.

Richard/Strong sounded like another outside interfernce match.

Too early to plant the seeds of Tyler/Jacobs split. We know its coming, but its just too early. Necro just left.

And the main event ends with Nigel pinning Steen again, in canada, again.

I guess i sound kinda harsh, but just some things that came to mind. I hope ROH doesn't do much as outside interference in the future. People pay up to 20$ a dvd to watch the show. I understand this isn't the biggest card but that would one thing about ROH that always seperated them from wwe/tna.

Looking at the card before hand, it was one that I would consider getting on DVD. I love Omega, and Davey vs Roddy sounded like it'd be pretty epic (huge Davey mark). AOTF vs Aries/Dragon is another one that looked good going in. Of the three, it seems that only one delivered, and the other two had shitty finishes that you pointed out, Monty.

I also agree with you on your point about Lynn. He should only be around if they're going to use him to help out the other guys. Having him go over isn't doing anyone any favours.

We'll see how they bounce back tonight. It's a bit early to pass judgement on Pearce at this point in time.

the show seemed alright. I think the show was overshadowed just because it was their first ever show in Montreal.

I'm tired of the Main Event scene. All they're doing now is just mixing up the guys that already lost to Nigel at least once.

Titus seems like he's going to be featured MAJOR on shows now, and that's if he doesn't get picked for Daisy of Love :ibbanana: King and Titus make sense, but I don't know what they'll do with the rest of the YRR. I doubt they'd put Titus in a tag team.

They're laying the ground work for Steel Cage Warfare, and hinting at Stevens & Strong teaming up wasn't bad. I'd like to see another match from them though.

I don't have a problem with Jerry Lynn. He's going to be a "Rocky" type of character where he exceeds his expectations. They did that with him in IWC, and I think ROH will take that idea.

the rest seemed like filler. It didn't really look like a must see show, but I guess Pearce has to take baby steps before he walks.

I don't think it was overshdowed as such. The card just had nothing on it. Plain and simple.

As far as the main event scene goes, I believe Necro is getting a shot tonight, so that's a bit different. I understand your point though.

I don't like Rhett. >_>

The steel cage warfare is just coming too early. Didn't they just have one?

I think if Lynn is going to be there, he should be there to put others over. They only have things to gain from beating him, while he doesn't have much to gain.

the card was pretty lame, but I'm more disappointed that there wasn't any big match that stood out.

It is pretty early for Steel Cage Warfare, but from what they already have, it looks like they're trying to fit as much as they can on FB08, making it seem like a real supercard. The last Steel cage Warfare seemed like it was just "there" and it wasn't really built up as the last chapter of a huge feud. this one has been building for a really long time.

I understand what you're saying, but I have a feeling that they brought him in for a push. he'd teach the ROH guys how to build a match without doing the same move 17 times (hey there Nigel). and they could put him and Omega or any other newcomer in a team.

here's another set of results, it's way better written. it seems like this guy didn't really think the show was that hot either...

PRE-SHOW MATCH:
Stupefied vs. Excess vs. Dan Paysan vs. Green Phantom
This was a pre-show match that wasn't too long (5 minutes) and was just there in my opinion because most of the crowd had not sat down. They didn't have much time to really put together a good match, and when it ended there was still 15 minutes to the show, they should of got that time.
This 4-way should of been the opening match to get the crowd into it because I think these 4 wrestlers had more to showcase and would of fed better for an attentive crowd.

-Show starts and Bobby Cruise announcing that the new rule from now on will be that there will be a 20 count on the floor. My first thought is that this will slow down the action and match quality will suffer.

MATCH 1:
Erick Stevens vs. Eddie Edwards w/ Shane Hagadorn & Bobby Dempsey
Edwards comes out with Shane who is selling his new depression, Bobby Dempsey gets a chant and is then sent under the ring. The first thing I notice along with the guy next to me as it concerns the style change is that Stevens was not giving elbow strikes like he usually does but was phantom punching. Also another sign of things to come through the night was the constant use of the belly to back suplex and over use of restholds. Crowd wasn't too much into the match and Edwards didn't seem to shine or capture anyones attention, overall an OK match.

MATCH 2:
Jay & Mark Briscoe vs. Kenny King & Kenny Omega
From the entrances they started to tease the dissension between the Kenny's with King ignoring Omega as a second. Funny part of the night was an "Obama" chant directed to Kenny King who couldn't keep his laughter in. King was very good with the crowd, which was screaming things in french to him and he kept replying "what the hell are you saying man!?"
Anyway back to the match, the whole match was pretty much to build the split of the Kenny's. It eventally happens at the end when Kenny ditches his partner and joins Rhett Titus in the entrance way being buddies and laughing to the eventual demise of Omega.
I thought this was a bad move, it was too much WWE for my taste and instead of having the Kenny's pull a Steen/Generico via FYF: Philly, which it seemed what the crowd in attendance wanted to see they went with the character development. Disappointing in my opinion, these character developments need to happen but they cant take away from the match on hand, that was one of Gabe's strong points, he would do it AFTER the match.

MATCH 3:
Necro Butcher vs. Brodie Lee
As I remember people were into Necro but were not into this match at all, this should of been the "hardcore", the "brawl" of the night and it didn't happen. Because of that the match was bland and kinda boring, until the Age of the Fall come in and cause the DQ, VERY LAME, crowd agrees.
This were the 20 count comes into play to hurt the match, not only wasn't this booked to be a fight and a slugfest like it should of been, the count killed any momentum they had on the short outside brawling.

-Nigel comes out after the match, talks about prevailing later in the night, Necro not being a deserving challenger and then mocking Bret Hart which started a "you screwed Bret" chant. Nigel plays his character so well, and this would continue later on for his title match.

MATCH 4:
Jerry Lynn over Delirious
Jerry Lynn was way over obviously and put on a good little match with Delirious with a lot of old school flavor. Delirious would do things and Lynn would later on do it as well. This is the match I remember that had the most rest holds and it just killed the crowd each time, if this is a sign of things to come then there may be a problem.

INTERMISSION:
Between the opening of the show and the intermission, it was an hour and it was quite an odd hour to say the least.

MATCH 5:
Davey Richards vs. Roderick Strong
The moment that Davey came out with Shane and Edwards I asked myself why does he need anyone out there? The match itself was pretty good with a lot of stiff exchanges and some nice spots. In the end, Shane distracts the referee and Edwards kicks Strong behind the head and Davey attempts a DR Driver on Strong for the win. Again, I didn't feel like the crowd was into the interference because I wasn't too impressed by it. That's why when Strong starts to get beatdown afterwards NOBODY cared when Erick Stevens came out for the save, nobody care.

MATCH 6:
Bryan Danielson & Austin Aries vs. Jimmy Jacobs & Tyler Black
This was probably the best match of the night at that point, they did some fun stuff but I'll have to watch this over again because they used too many restholds again to tease the hot tag. Compared to their RIE 2 match, they seemed to have turned it down a notch.

MATCH 7:
Nigel McGuinness vs. Go Shiosaki vs. Kevin Steen vs. El Generico
HOLY HELL is Kel Steenerico was WAY WAY over, which isn't a surprise but was damn fun to cheer them.
First of all this match contained some of the oddest chants ever, which I would thought never to hear in an ROH ring. Anyway, Nigel was staind infront of me and his interaction with his looks and all with the fans were classic.
The booking of the match was good and will turn out pretty good on DVD. Although it wouldn't of been how I would of liked it to go, Go Shiosaki should of been the first to go and Generico should of been the one to go one on one with Nigel. Although the Steen vs. Nigel portion was good because the crowd was into it big time.

Overall Thoughts:

-Lack of women wrestlers/valets...I don't think there was one present.
-The wrestling seems to have slowed down, compared the Toronto debut which was a smoother show that built into a roller coaster as it went on.
-It may of been just me, but I thought there was a lot of rest holds throughout the match and a surplus of back suplexes.
-The DQ finish was not something you want to see live, a lack of a typical ROH brawl was needed here and it didn't happen.
-The interference in the Strong/Richards match was kinda disappointing.
-I would of rather of seen the Kenny's go for a competitive match with the Briscoes instead of the 2 on 1.
-The first half of the show was nothing special, the second half was much much better.

I know this kind of comes off as a negative review, but I still had a great time and I was satisfied with the show, but with the new direction of ROH I made sure to take note of what I noticed. It may all turn out differently on DVD or I may of been just fetching for things but this was no Toronto debut which is the show I was putting this against. So far I'm not impressed.

Results from the 11/8 show:

Event Results:

a) Stupefied & Player Uno over Ernie Osiris & The Yellow Ninja

1) Davey Richards over Jerry Lynn

2) Kenny King & Rhett Titus over Delirious & Brodie Lee via DQ (?) due to 20 count on the the floor. smitty indicated DQ in his text, but I imagine he means count out.

3) Roderick Strong & Erick Stevens over Sweet and Sour Inc. of Go Shiozaki & Eddie Edwards when Strong tapped Edwards in the Stronghold. Strong and Stevens shook hands post-match.

Estimated attendance around 500.

4) Dog Collar Match - Austin Aries over Jimmy Jacobs via Last Chancery using the chain. Jacobs bled a ton and Tyler Black came out at one point but was sent to the back because Jacobs said he had it under control. Crowd gave Jacobs a big ovation in the post-match.

***INTERMISSION***

5) Grizzly Redwood over Alex "Sugerfoot" Payne

6) Bryan Danielson over Kenny Omega and Tyler Black in a 3-Way Match when Omega tapped to Cattle Mutilation. Omega was busted open hardway around the eye.

7) Ring of Honor World Title Match - Necro Butcher over Nigel McGuinness via DQ when AOTF interfered.

8) Ring of Honor World Tag Team Title Match - Kevin Steen & El Generico retain against The Briscoes

At least this one wasn't so interference ridden. It sounds like Jacobs vs Aries must've been pretty epic. Omega vs Dragon vs Tyler would have also been great.

Might get this one on DVD in the future.

Looks like a great show, looks better then the first one anyway. I don't like all of the attacks on Necro, the are obvious and happen to often. Steenerico Vs Briscoes could have been an awesome match, same with the triple threat match! Also good to see Lynn lose and actually put someone over...

THE Brian Kendrick's Biceps

Yeah, the fact that Davey went over Lynn is ftw. The attacks on Necro are repetitive, yes. I think this will stop soon though, as it looks like Tyler will be going out on his own. The focus of what is left of AOTF will then be on him.

7) Ring of Honor World Title Match - Necro Butcher over Nigel McGuinness via DQ when AOTF interfered.

:(

If theres actually DQ's and Countouts now, Necro is useless. Why would i pay for stuff like this when i could get it for free on tv?
