ROCK vs cRAP

It depends what you mean by "Rock". If you mean bands like AC/DC, The Foo Fighters, Metallica etc, i would say those bands stated help back up that Rock > Rap.


On the other hand, Kanye West, Young Buck, 50 Cent, Xzibit and others are extremly good rappers, which makes it hard to choose one genre over the other, as those rappers help proove that Rap > Rock.

I enjoy listening to Rap alot more, however I would ratehr be in a rock band then be a rapper.

In conclusion, Avril Lavigne owns them all.

I'll just add my two cents in on this. Most of the rap you hear on the radio is garbage plain and simple. Rap is like any other genre of music you have to take the good with the bad. In EVERY genre of music there is bad but there is also good so deal with it. Personally I'm more into rap and like I said I just don't listen to a lot of what I like to call "Bullshit Rap" I prefer stuff like Eminem, Jay-z, Outkast, Common, Kanye West, Mos Def, Talib Kweli etc. There is good in every music it just takes awhile to find it sometimes.

Rock/metal I like rock beats mixed with rapping sometimes though and Eazy-E you can't go wrong. But all together Rock is 10 times better then Rap once again as stated its a matter of personal opinion.

Now how many people still listen to the song Thunderstruck by AC/dc many many people now that song that was made 17 years ago is still listened to more than a very popular song that was made 4 years ago. Which proves how trendy rap is. People listen to a song for 3 months and they get sick of it.

^exactly, I listen to rap from 15 years ago, and it doesn't really prove anything, just that a lot of the older stuff is better than the newer stuff. People have been saying rap is a trend for damn near 30 years, and surprise surprise its still around. I can't speak for you but I don't know too many trends that last for 30 years.

Now how many people still listen to the song Straight Outta Compton by N.W.A.? Shitloads of people. The song was released 19 years ago is still listened to more than a very popular song that was made just a few years ago. Which proves how trendy ANYTHING is. People listen to a song for 3 months and they get sick of it.
