No ones saying he broke a WWE championship record at all bruh but since there's been so few Universal Champions just saying Brock is the longest doesn't mean as much as saying he's the longest reigning of ANY world title in the last 30 years. But why is that a record? I agree with Cwalker when he says it was stupid when CM Punk did it. I don't think WWE, World Heavyweight and Universal should be lumped together like they were all one belt. Just talk about the records of any of those individual belts.

If Brock wants to talk about being the longest reigning "world" champion since the 80s while barely defending the belt and being on the show, go for it. And this from a person that is normally fine with the arrangement, just silly when comparing it to other champions.

I mean if it's just a piece of trivia that Brock held his belt longer than Punk held his, then that's true. It's just being presented as a record by everyone that is the issue. Other than that it's whatever. Punk is still unmoved from wherever he was on the WWE Title reign lengths, I think he was maybe 8th or something.

One thing I'll say for Brock is he will probably hold the longest reigning Universal title reign. I don't see anyone else holding the red belt for 435 days, kudos to him for getting it and getting paid for it.

If WWE were to get to that point unify all the world belts and let him actually surpass Bruno's reign.

Because having a guy hold on the belt for 2804 days not be the WWE Champion would just be a crime.

Just because I want to take the piss out of this entire conversation if we're straight up talking world champions and not WWE, World Heavyweight or Universal: Hulk Hogan held the WCW Championship for 469 days. And if you count the IWGP Championship as a "world" title, that Okada guy just held his belt for like 720 days. Brock got a ways to go!

The World Title closed many shows when it was Raw's main title. But WWE always goes back to the WWE Title eventually.
