Just because I want to take the piss out of this entire conversation if we're straight up talking world champions and not WWE, World Heavyweight or Universal: Hulk Hogan held the WCW Championship for 469 days. And if you count the IWGP Championship as a "world" title, that Okada guy just held his belt for like 720 days. Brock got a ways to go!

And the world title was th top title when it was on Raw.

Raw champ always gets top billing. Could call it anything and it's still the top title.

That was my point. Raw makes its title the top title. But Raw will eventually draft the WWE back or unify the belts.

The WWE Title always comes back to being the primary belt.

It's literally a fact though lol WWE always does this like how they always billed JBL as the longest reigning wwe champ in smackdown history, like why do I give a fuck about that? But that doesn't make it any less true. I'm not arguing if the reign is better or worse or what should be recognized all I'm saying is WWE is saying a fact and just because there's a lot of qualifiers for it doesn't make it any less true.

They're just trying to be like regular sports tbh you see these "records" that get broken on sportscenter? It'll be like only player in history with 30 points, 13 rebounds and 5 steals on the second Tuesday of a month and they act like that's a record because records are very arbitrary, you can almost make anything a record of you qualified it right

If there's an abstract list on wikipedia that counts all world champions reigns together, sure.

The problem really lies in WWE having two world titles in the first place. One company should really only have one world champion. Brock Lesnar right now would have surpassed CM Punk's record and replaced him as the 7th longest reigning WWE Champion.

I know when Orton won the WHC they acknowledged that he passed Brock as youngest world champion despite Brock gaining the record by winning the WWE title

I've said multiple times I don't care, I'm just saying they aren't wrong and I mean we care bc it's still impressive? We cared when Punk was having that long reign not because he was gonna break the record but bc it was impressive so they added a qualifier to it to show that while it wasn't breaking an actual record it was notable

I think WWE actually acknowledged that they changed the definitions of triple crown and grand slam so now we just have new and old criteria but that's a whole other can of worms lmao
