I skipped the pre-show.
Intercontinental Championship Triple Threat: Champion the Miz vs Seth Rollins vs Finn Balor:
This felt like a let down. It wasn't bad, but it felt like it was missing something. Rollins looks like a dork swinging the title around the way he does after a victory.
Smackdown Women's Championship: Champion Charlotte Flair vs Asuka
Better than the IC title match, yet retaining that feeling of something being missing. Asuka losing is mind boggling, especially by a clean submission with no strings attached. I presume Asuka ran over Vince's dog with her car by accident prior to the match. At the very least the streak won't get in the way of booking her later on. The suplex to the outside of the ring felt weak in comparison to the one done during Gargano vs. Ciampa, which I (foolishly) watched just before this show.
United States Championship Fatal Fourway: Champion Randy Orton vs Rusev vs Bobby Roode vs Jinder Mahal
Rusev looked great here, which is really strange for me to admit. Jinder winning didn't shock me too much given the unending WWE Championship run he had last year. Get ready for another Orton vs. Jinder singles match!
Mixed Tag Match: HHH and Stephanie McMahon vs Ronda Rousey and Kurt Angle
Much better than I anticipated and without a doubt the match of the night. Ronda looked like she belonged out there and wasn't booed by the crowd, both of which being great signs. Hopefully she'll look more smooth once she's facing actual wrestlers. Oh, and please stop the dramatic pauses every five minutes.
Smackdown Tag Team Championship Triple Threat: Usos vs the Bludgeon Brothers vs the New Day
Disappointing. Hopefully Usos vs. BB won't be a squash whenever they face off again. Both teams had some amazing matches with each other back in 2014.
John Cena vs the Undertaker
Cool, I guess? If we can just stop bringing the Undertaker back and let him retire now that his image has been repaired, that'd be great.
But it's WWE, so we'll probably see Undertaker vs. Goldberg next year.
Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan vs Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn
Fun match. Seeing Bryan in the ring is heartwarming.
RAW Women's Championship: Alexa Bliss vs. Nia Jax
Good, not great. Hardly anything memorable.
WWE Championship: Champion AJ Styles vs Shinsuke Nakamura
Didn't watch. Nakamura turning heel is somewhat interesting, albeit saddening since it means these two will have a rematch. It'd be great if they would stop cockblocking the guy and just give him the title already.
Raw Tag Team Championship: Champions the Bar vs Braun Strowman and Nicolas
So much for his partner being Rey Mysterio! Corey sold this well on commentary. I don't like the tag titles getting shit on like this, however, it's undeniably hilarious to see a kid technically win it. I'm happy for Nicolas. MAW or not, it's adorable. I think it'd be kinda cool if Braun continued pulling "random people" whenever he wrestles on TV, only the "randoms" in question are local talents strategically positioned in the crowd.
Universal Championship: Champion Brock Lesnar vs Roman Reigns
Some poor sap out there put his entire life's savings on Reigns winning. Rest in peace, my good man.
5/10. I didn't expect 34 to be anything special, but it fed me enough to keep me watching 'til the end. The booking is incredibly confusing and seems as though WWE just wanted to swerve fans for the sake of swerving them, much like they did at SummerSlam 2015. This show feels like a comedy act with these match outcomes.
