Randy Orton: 'I Wouldn't Say I'm WWE For Life'

WWE star Randy Orton has an interview with Comcast recently in which he discussed his new movie, 12 Rounds 2: Reloaded. During the interview, Orton was asked if he will act more after his career is over, or if's he's "WWE for life."

"I wouldn't say I'm WWE for life, I'd say my near future will consist of me primarily being in the ring," Orton said. "Wrestling is my first love. The movie was fun, but the schedule was grueling because I had to fly off on my off days to film. Eight weeks went by and I had three days off. If I do the movie thing, I'll be sure that I'm only doing the movie so I can concentrate on it. (Laughs) I think I'd be more sane that way."

Maybe something that shouldn't be read into much or Could he be hinting at something else?

I think it's pretty obvious he's talking about being a lifer as opossed to jumping ship. He probably doesn't want to be a road agent or trainer and just enjoy is later years in life. Seems like he might be interested in acting again but not really while he's still an active competitor.

Think the question was worded wrongly really, as even after he's done in the WWE he'll still be regarded as WWE for life giving his history in the company. I'm guessing they were hinting as to whether he would stick around in the company in other roles like a trainer or road agent or something.

The guy is still young enough that he could get the final strike on his wellness policy, take the time off due to that then come back for another 5/6/7 year run providing he doesn't go to TNA which I'm 99% sure he wouldn't.

I don't think this is anything to really read into. Seems to me that he doesn't plan on really doing any movies while still wrestling unless he's given a good chunk of time off so he can focus on it, like he even said.

Its sad that there is a lack of options for the likes of Orton in terms of other companies because he could do with a fresh start. He is above TNA right now, maybe when he is older I could see him going there. I see him taking the odd breaks from the ring to film mostly straight to DVD action fare.

Fresh start? He's been out of the main event forever putting on fantastic matches with numerous different talent, so when he finally does get put back in the main event it's going to be as good as a fresh start.

Randy probably just got sick of hiding his bud while filming that movie. WWE needs to realize that this guy is in his prime in-ring wise(well he was in 2011) and give this guy something to do because they are wasting all the work they put into this guy.

Sounds like the guy is looking for an out and wants to be a film star, who can blame him, wrestling is the lowest form of entertainment.

I don't imagine he is in hot demand tho, which is great news as he's the best all rounder in wrestling. Fuck Daniel Bryan, he isn't worthy of lacing Orton's boots up for him.

He's hardly an all rounder. He couldn't keep up his good work in 2011 and now he's back to looking both unmotivated and just damn right confused on what type of wrestler he wants to play.

Anyway, I don't know how some people could take this the wrong way. He clearly just wants to retire some day and then never look back.

Yeah I don't think Randy would ever go to TNA or anything like that, doesn't seem the type that would want to go to a much smaller show and he has been WWE ever since the start and all his family are involved with the WWE. But maybe an acting career once his WWE career is over. I believe his current contract is one of the longest in WWE. 10 years and he is only a couple years in.

Orton signed that ten year contract in 2007, and he is sgined up until 2017. So really he only has 4 years left in the company. Really I just think Orton meant here is when his time with wrestling is done, he is done with it until WWE calls him up to go in there hall of fame.

I see it as Orton saying that he will only ever wrestle for WWE but if given the opportunity to do more films when his current WWE deal ends he would probably stop wrestling and do it. He is one, of many, that seems like he could use a decent break to prevent him from getting burnt out. WWE really should look closely at ensuring the wrestlers get a decent break each year or at least every second year give them a month or so off to recharge.

Lol boo this guy for thinking about life after wrestling. One would think he has a good shot, if Channing Tatum can jab a career, whose to think Orton can't? Heis a handsome man, has all the basics of acting, knows how to hit marks and hit cues. Nothing really to do after that.

Don't think you can ever rule it out him going to TNA, if the likes of Flair, Hogan, Angle etc went there it is not so far fetched. Its just that it would be later in Orton's career if it did happen.

Don't think he has the overall charasma or range to make it in acting full time.

Those three are quite different to Orton. Flair went there because he has 4/5 ex wifes that he needs to pay maintenance to, Hogan always wants the attention and the money so would work anywhere and Angle only went there because WWE fired him. Orton doesn't seem unstable like those three, he seems like someone who would be smart enough to save his money to ensure he doesn't have to keep coming back to pay the bills once he is ready to go.
