The dripping water adds beautifully to the atmosphere. The first kill is the best IMHO. And the cat watching is spookier.

This is actually my favourite scene in the whole film, its super tense and the jump scare at the end with the Alien is one that still legitimately works. Even though you know its coming it blows you away every single time.

The only drawback to this version of the film is the subplot of the Alien taking the bodies and turning them into eggs! :

I'm so glad Cameron changed this on Aliens.

Can I also point out how much I hate Lambert? She fucking cries and moans through the whole second act and when the alien menaces her she just stands there and lets it kill her.

On the bright side we do get the extra creepy scene where Ash tries to stuff a magazine down Ripley's throat. That's pretty fucking nasty! Oh and the shot of Ash sitting beside Ripley after she finds out the crew is expendable is another great one, very chilling.
