Haha, I remember seeing this with Mrs. Fuji in the theatre and she'd never seen the DC before. When they showed the people eggs she was like "what the fuck Kevin, why did they add this shit?" and I was like "how the fuck should I know, I didn't direct the damn movie..go ask Ridley Scott" :

Thankfully someone had the better sense to remove it from the original theatrical run. Otherwise Aliens would have had to continue this crap. Ridley was high on something when he came up with that concept! And Mrs. Fuji should join us some day for the LD.

Personally I've always thought he didn't like it either but he had to insert something into the DC so that's what he picked. He should have just added 3 more minutes of Weaver in her little panties instead.
