On this Monday’s Raw SuperShow, the WWE Universe may get its second opportunity in as many weeks to watch WWE Heavyweight Champion CM Punk vs. World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan, according to Executive Vice President of Talent Relations and Raw Interim General Manager John Laurinaitis.

In a series of tweets Saturday afternoon, Laurinaitis - who’s presently engulfed in a game of one-upmanship with SmackDown GM Theodore Long - hinted that a Champion vs. Champion rematch could happen as soon as Monday night.

Punk and Bryan battled to three inconclusive decisions on SuperSmackDown Live last Tuesday. After Laurinaitis and Long took turns overturning two controversial three-counts that resulted in Punk and Bryan victories, respectively, the match eventually ended in a double-pinfall.

In the first of several tweets Saturday, Laurinaitis placed the blame squarely on Long, writing, “Leave it to @GMSmackDown to bungle a perfectly good main event with @CMPunk and @WWEDaniel Bryan. #Big Johnnyâ€

The Interim Raw GM went on to accuse Long of an “underwhelming performance†and said he was mulling over the possibility of making a Punk-Bryan rematch when Raw airs live from Portland, Ore. (9/8 CT, on USA).

“Unlike @GMSmackDown, Mr. Excitement will give WWE Universe what they want,†Laurinaitis tweeted.

Long couldn’t help but to respond in similar fashion.

“If you REALLY wanted to give the WWE Universe what it wanted, you’d retire,†the SmackDown GM retorted in a tweet. “I’ll see you in Portland, playa. #Holla.â€

I'm up for seeing another Bryan/Punk match.

I think they should save it for a feud later down the road. However, who am I too complain about seeing CM Punk vs. D-Bryan?!?

I'm with snitch for two people not in a feud they're having a lot of matches that could ruin the specialness of having matches down the road.

AGAIN? They've already had 2 matches since Bryan became WHC and they want another? I know they work well together, and good, it's nice to see a good match, but come on. How is the champion vs champion mystique going to be kept in tact if they keep fighting? World champion vs world champion is supposed to be an important stipulation and they're just bastardizing it like they did with HIAC.

I don't expect it to end with a winner, either, just like the other two. The inconclusiveness will fuel the Teddy/Laurinaitis feud even more when they keep restarting it, so it's essentially just going to keep being the same thing. It does no favors for Punk or Bryan, since they keep battling to stalemates, so this really is pointless.

I hope Daniel Bryan or Punk don't get injured weeks away from WrestleMania. The amount of matches these guys work is ridiculous.

It's obvious why WWE are having these 2 wrestling each other, it puts over the Long vs. Laurinatis feud. Would anybody give a fuck if they kept restarting a match between Otunga and Zeke?

I somewhat agree with the sentiments about spoiling this. I feel they may be flushing a good potential feud down the toilet much like they did Randy Orton vs Cody Rhodes. They randomly fought eachother 3 times in 2 weeks and then were put in a half assed program together. It's being used to further the Long/Johnny Ace feud but it's really weird since there rooting for the opposite champion to win. It would make a lot more sense if they were rooting for their own brands champion regardless of heel/face.

No thanks. Neither man needs the win atm, and they should be, you know, feuding against their Mania challengers, not one another.

I think this match is gonna have interfearance from Sheamus and Jericho and turn into a tag team match but Teddy makes a tag team match up of Punk and Jericho vs Sheamus and Brian to further their feuds with eachother.

I'll see ya in Portland, playa.

I could watch these two wrestle each other every single night. I can't wait for tomorrow night. And yes Johnny Ace is giving us fans exactly what we want. He sure keeps proving that he Mr. Excitement is nothing but unpredictable. This Raw is gonna be HUGE.

They're still gonna be feuding with the guys they are facing at mania, a Punk/Jericho segment is already set to happen. Same time got to keep them busy if they're gonna wrestle and you don't want them in a match with the guys they're gonna face so I don't mind this esp considering I'm not against seeing a great match.

Disagree completely . Mania needs to feel special, feuds are already built and in place, all we need is a promo here and there. I don't want to see them face their opponents until Mania. I'm OK with it.
