WWE Raw ratings rise to 4.15 million viewers for Payback fallout show
With no competition and a stacked show after a solid pay-per-view, WWE got back over the 4 million average viewers hump for the June 17, 2013, edition of "Monday Night Raw."

Considering the Payback pay-per-view (PPV) was as strong as it was the night before, and there was no major competition from any of the big sports that usually rip viewers away, one would think last night's (June 17, 2013) episode of Monday Night Raw would bounce back over the four million average for all three hours.

And that's exactly what happened.

Indeed, Raw, which emanated from the Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids, Michigan, did a 3.0 rating and averaged 4.15 million viewers. There was an NHL Stanley Cup Final game between the Chicago Blackhawks and Boston Bruins that did around 4 million viewers, but it didn't appear to cut into Raw's audience much, if at all.

Here's the hourly breakdown:

Hour one: 4.03 million
Hour two: 4.26 million
Hour three: 4.17 million

Not the best, but certainly not the worst. The third hour didn't benefit from actual promotion of Brock Lesnar, who showed up in the main event segment as a surprise to F-5 CM Punk following his split from Paul Heyman.

WWE has been getting it right an awful lot lately, though and with so much entertainment value looming on the horizon, the hope is the ratings will gradually improve as the shows continue to get better.

The hope is that much, at least.

With how good WWE booking has been as of late I'm glad the ratings are looking up. WWE is on the right track, they just need to keep the momentum rolling.

I feel bad for Striker. Sure he was overzealous at times, but at least you could feel his enthusiasm for the role, especially during the "heel Cole" period and Jerry Lawler's continuing to give no fucks.

I still stand by that he should have been made a manager and had a stable of Indy stars. I think he would have excelled in that role.

It sucks hearing that someone lost their job but seriously, fuck Matt Striker. I just hate him and how he thinks he's some sort of wrestling genius.

Anyway, Smackdown MITB contestant were announced at the taping tonight:

Fandango, Wade Barrett, Dean Ambrose, Jack Swagger, Damien Sandow, Cody Rhodes and Antonio Cesaro

Would love for any to win but I can't see this line up lasting at all. All heels, they'll switch it up. Either way, I'm calling Barrett for the win. They always destroy them before building them up most, Barrett's on the right path. This has to be how he gets out of his major rut.

Sorta weird how they made it all faces in one and all heels in another. Quite interested in how the Philly crowd will react to the heel match, you presume they'll have their default favourites.

Fully expect a 7 vs. 7 match on the Raw before MitB

I guess they're figuring we're guaranteed one heel and babyface MiTB Briefcase Holder this year.

What I'm more shocked by is there is a "RAW" and "SmackDown" match when there is no such thing as a RAW or SD Superstar anymore.

I think it's just for the belts, Raw MITB can only challenge for the WWE title and SD! can challenge for the lesser World Heavyweight championship.

Re: Pro Wrestling News & Rumors Tidbits *May Contain Spoilers*

Not sure how reliable the source was I read but I read a response that the Ultimate Warrior sent Vince about him being back with the WWE I am guessing a legends deal but would not be shocked if he made a rumble appearance and probably a HOF entry either. If anyone has seen anything that is more reliable I wouldn't mind seeing the real thing but it could be some dirt sheet bs.

That could be fun, but i dont know if Warrior OR Vince have the chops to wrestle anymore.

Sounds like cheap talk to me.

Hogan vs. Vince wasn't a "wrestling" match either. I'm sure Warrior and Vince could pull something like that off.

The hate Warrior gets on the internet is a total joke.

EDIT: Not singling you out because I know you never liked Warrior, its just a lot of people blindly hate on the guy with no basis for argument (like those who didn't even see him wrestle for example).
