BLOCK C & BLOCK D FOURTH ROUND MATCHES

The ninth night of the PPW World Championship G1 Climax tournament began with the fourth round of Block C matches.

“Mr. Mayhem” versus the “Mercenary” kicked off the night and it saw Wardlow dominate for the first half of the match. In the end though Maclin showed off immense strength and lifted Wardlow up for and hit Mayhem for All for the pin.

Next Samoa Joe took on Roman Reigns and the two Samoans savaged each other for seventeen minutes. It ended with Joe pinning Reigns after hitting the Muscle Buster.

Then John Cena versus Seth Rollins served as the penultimate match of round four of Block C. It lasted twenty three minutes and saw Cena get the win with an AA off the top rope.

After that Kota Ibushi and Kaito Kiyomia wrestled to a thirty minute time limit draw. As a result of that both men earned one point each.


INTERMISSION

The fourth round of Block D matches kicked off with Josh Alexander versus Alexander Hammerstone. The former got the pin after hitting a second rope version of the C4 Spike.

Next Bryan Danielson faced off with Austin Theory and it lasted fifteen minutes. Theory managed to counter the LeBell Lock into a pinning position and he got the three count.

Then the penultimate match saw Kazuchika Okada and Alex Shelley go one on one in a twenty two minute thriller. Shelly dodged an attempted Rainmaker and then grabbed his opponent and grounded him then locked in the Border City Stretch for the tap out.


Finally Will Ospreay closed the event out by taking on Christian Cage. The match lasted about seventeen minutes and saw the “Aerial Assassin” hit an Oscutter and then the Storm Breaker for the win.

BLOCK A & BLOCK B FIFTH ROUND MATCHES

Sanada versus Chris Sabin kicked things off for both the tenth night of the PPW World Championship G1 Climax but also the fifth round of Block A matches. The former got the submission at the ten minute mark with the Skull End.

Next KENTA went one on one with Chris Jericho in a fifteen minute thrilling contest. In the end Jericho trapped his opponent in the Walls of Jericho and then transitioned it into the Liontamer and KENTA tapped out.

Then the second last match of the fifth round of Block A it saw Gunther taking on Jacob Fatu. The conclusion of the match saw the “Ring General” aka Gunther lay his opponent out with a Powerbomb off the top rope for the pin.

After that Zack Sabre Jr and Moose competed against each other in a match that lasted thirteen minutes. In the end the latter got the pinfall victory after hitting Lights Out on his opponent.


INTERMISSION

The fifth round of Block B matches opened with Claudio Castagnoli versus Jake Lee. The two men went back and forth for fourteen minutes and in the end Lee pinned CC with the Bazooka.


Next Lance Archer destroyed MJF with a Chokeslam and then dragged his opponent up by the throat and then proceeded to Chokeslam him two more times to get the win.

Then the penultimate match of the night with Edge versus Randy Orton. It went sixteen minutes and saw Edge fight out off an attempted RKO and then rolled his opponent up. But he wasn’t done there as he then transitioned it into the Edgecator and Orton tapped out.

Finally the show closed out with Jon Moxley versus El Hijo Del Vikingo in a twenty two minute main event. Which saw EHDV get the win a Springboard Poison Rana for the pin.

BLOCK C & BLOCK D FIFTH ROUND MATCHES

The eleventh night of the PPW World Championship G1 Climax opened with the fifth round of Block C matches. Which saw a clash of styles when Wardlow competed against Kota Ibushi. The ending saw Wardlow hit a quartet of Powerbombs on his opponent for the win.

Next Steve Maclin got John Cena in his crosshairs as the two men squared off.
The encounter lasted ten minutes and it saw Maclin score the upset victory with Mayhem for All.

Then Kaito Kiyomiya and Samoa Joe went to war for nineteen minutes and saw the latter submit the former with the Coquina Clutch.

After that Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins wrestled to a thirty minute time limit draw to close out the fifth round of Block C.

INTERMISSION


The fifth round of Block D began with Will Ospreay taking on Alexander Hammerstone and it saw the latter submit the former with a Torture Rack hold at the fifteen minute mark.

Next Josh Alexander faced off with Austin Theory and it ended at the seventeen minute mark in a double pin situation. As a result both men earned a single point.

Then the penultimate match saw Christian Cage and Alex Shelley and it lasted fourteen minutes. It concluded with Cage hitting a Killswitch off the second rope.


Finally the show closed out with Kazuchika Okada versus Bryan Danielson. It was one hell of a main event and it was damn near impossible to pick who the winner would be. In the end though Danielson submitted Okada with the LeBell Lock.

BLOCK A & BLOCK B SIXTH ROUND MATCHES

Block A sixth round signaled the beginning of the twelfth day of the PPW World Championship G1 Climax. Moose faced off with KENTA in the opening bout which lasted twelve minutes and the former get the win with the Go to Hell.

Next Zack Sabre Jr took on and defeated Chris Sabin in a ten minute match by choking him out with an Octopus Stretch.

The penultimate match of the sixth round of Block A matches between Chris Jeircho and Jacob Fatu ended in a double count out which means neither man got a point.


Gunther versus Sanada served as the main event of the sixth round of Block A. Despite the obvious size difference Sanada held his own against the “Ring General” for the majority of the match. Eventually though he would be grounded by Gunther who then trapped him in a heel hook submission hold and he tapped out.

INTERMISSION


The sixth round of Block B matches opened with Jon Moxley versus Edge. The match lasted twenty minutes and saw both men bleed. In the closing stages of the bout Edge fought out of an attempted Paradigm Shift and then backed up and hit a Spear for the win.

Next MJF versus Jake Lee took place and it lasted four minutes, it was so short because the former attacked his opponent before the bell. Once the ref checked with Lee that he wanted to continue he signaled for the bell to be rung. From here MJF poked Lee in the eye and then grounded him and forced him to submit to the Salt of the Earth.

Then Lance Archer faced off with Randy Orton in an awesome twenty minute encounter. It had an absolutely thrilling conclusion as Archer had his opponent set up for the Black Out only for Orton to somehow turn it into an RKO for the pin.

Finally Claudio Castagnoli and El Hijo Del Vikingo tore the house down in a twenty five minute instant classic. Which saw it end in a pinning/submission ending so both men earned a point.

BLOCK C & BLOCK D SIXTH ROUND MATCHES

The sixth round of Block C and Block D matches respectively opened with Kaito Kiyomiya defeating Wardlow in a fifteen minute match with a Tiger Driver.

Which was followed by John Cena forcing Kota Ibushi to pass out in the Attitude Adjustment 2.0 aka the STF.

Then Steve Maclin pulled off his second upset of the tournament when he pinned Roman Reigns with Mayhem for All.

Block C closed out with Seth Rollins defeating Samoa Joe in an eighteen minute match with back to back Curb Stomps.

INTERMISSION


Block D opened with Alexander Hammerstone beating Austin Theory by way of submission thanks to a Torture Rack.

Then Josh Alexander beat Kazuchika by way of pinfall in a twenty minute match. He did this by hitting a second rope variation of his C4 Spike finisher for the pin.

The penultimate match of the night was a high-flying affair between Will Ospreay and Alex Shelly which saw the latter win with the Hidden Blade.

Finally the show closed out with Bryan Danielson pinning Christian Cage with the Running Knee Strike.

BLOCK A & BLOCK B FINAL ROUND MATCHES

The final round of Block A and Block B matches kicked things off with KENTA versus Chris Sabin which went for twenty one minutes. The ending saw KENTA get the win by knocking his opponent out with the Go to Sleep.

Next Jacob Fatu went one on one with Moose in a savage war of a match. Which saw the former get the win by laying out his opponent with a Samoan Drop and then following it up with a top rope Moonsault for the pin.

Then the penultimate match of the final round of Block A saw ZSJ defeat Sanada in a thrilling seventeen minute bout by submitting him with a Triangle Choke.

After that Chris Jericho beat Gunther in the final match of Block A by hitting one Judas Effect but when that didn’t floor his opponent he hit another one and then pinned him.

INTERMISSION


Randy Orton defeated MJF in a nineteen minute match with an RKO.

Next Claudio Castanoli took on and defeated Edge by laying him out with a Giant Swing. From here “Double C” attempted and locked in a Sharpshooter and Edge tapped out.


Jake Lee versus El Hijo Del Vikingo served as the penultimate match of the final round of Block B. It would take a Springboard Poison Rana and a 630 Splash from Vikingo to put Lee down for the count.

The main event of the final round of Block B was a brutal brawl between Jon Moxley and Lance Archer. Both men bled heavily and the ending saw Moxley pinned Archer after hitting a Paradigm Shift off the top rope.

BLOCK C & BLOCK D FINAL ROUND MATCHES

The final round of Block C and Block D matches of the PPW World Championship G1 Climax. The opening match saw John Cena take on and defeat Wardlow with back to back AA’s.

Next Samoa Joe waged war against the “Mercenary” Steve Maclin. The war lasted thirteen minutes and saw Joe get the win with the Muscle Buster.


Then Kota Ibushi and Roman Reigns went one on one and it ended in a time limit draw as a result both men earned one point each.

After that the last match of Block C saw Kaito Kiyoimya share the ring with Seth Rollins. It lasted twenty seven minutes and saw Rollins victorious after a Buckle Bomb /Phoenix Splash combination.

INTERMISSION


Block D opened with Will Ospreay versus Austin Theory and it lasted sixteen minutes. The “Aerial Assassin” aka Ospreay get the win the Hidden Blade.

Next Alex Shelley tore the house down against Bryan Danielson for twenty minutes but in the end the latter rendered Shelley unconscious with repeated stomps to the back of the head.

Then the penultimate match of the night saw Kazuchika Okada beat Alexander Hammerstone with back to back Rainmaker’s to put an end to their contest.

Finally Josh Alexander beat Christian Cage in the main event. It lasted for twenty two minutes and the conclusion saw Cage miss an attempted Frog Splash. Which then allowed Alexander to drag him up and hit the C4 Spike for the pin.
