First of all, my apologies to anyone here who has a peanut allergy.

Alright, so the other day I was at a restaurant that no longer serves any food with any type of nuts in it due to the supposed high instance of allergies. I had heard of the allergy before, but didn't realize that it was this bad. Upon further research, I soon discovered that peanuts and related products have also been banned in many schools in the Toronto area, and around North America as well. In fact, it seemed everywhere I looked, some place was banning these things because of how many people could be affected by them.

Well, imagine my surprise when I then discovered that only an estimated 0.4 to 0.6 percent of the ENTIRE POPULATION is actually affected! What the fuck? So in other words, 99.4% of the healthy world has to give up peanuts in restaurants, schools and wherever else they may be? How the hell does that make any sense at all?

Discuss.

My apologies to those that do have the allergy, but how hard us it for that .4 -.6 % to just ask if nuts are either in the food or just don't eat there.

I mean I know its a hassle and I deal with it everyday at work with all the allergies they have I think these teenagers with behavior and drug issues have somehow been stricken with every known allergy and disease.

So we get treated like everything else in this world. Have to pay for things that they either can chose not to do or just don't want to.

In fairness however, they die with it, you don't die without it.

I don't support the idea but that's just something to consider.

Then they shouldn't eat at restaurants if its a problem, but rather prepare their own foods. Sorry, but its way too small a segment of the population to make everyone else suffer when they can prevent the problem themselves by simply staying at home. That's just proper risk management.

Should we exterminate all bees because 2% of the population can go into anaphylactic shock when stung?

No, it's more the principle of the thing. If we continually make concessions for such small groups where is it going to end? In fact, why is it that peanuts are the singled out culprit yet shellfish still remain in almost all restaurants when 2% of the population can die from eating them? I just don't understand the logic in the outright banning of a food that has been around for longer than anyone who came up with the idea to do so in the first place.

Also, I'm secretly Mr. Peanut and I'm worried I'll lose too much money and won't be able to buy a new monocle this year.

I don't think you're understanding what he's trying to get at.

Oh just a little something something with chocolate and PEANUT BUTTER. SO MUCH FUCKING PEANUT BUTTER
Oh, you mean a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup. I was confused because you spelt it "Recess" and I thought you were talking about playgrounds or something.
