- May 18th Newswire: As announced this morning in the main page article (http://www.rohwrestling.com/news/article.aspx?id=2797), the ROH World Title will be defended in New York City as venerable champion, Jerry Lynn, will defend against Austin Aries. Aries has been more cocky and arrogant than ever before, and now he has his sights set on becoming the first two-time ROH World Champion. Can Lynn shut Aries up? Or will Aries show the world that he's not only A star – he's THE star. Tickets are on sale now!

- We are please to announce the first set of talent for the June ROH on HDNet National Television Tapings, taking place on June 19th and 20th at the Arena in South Philly. On June 19th and 20th you will see: Bryan Danielson, Austin Aries, Colt Cabana, ROH World Tag Team Champions - The American Wolves, Jimmy Rave, and D'Lo Brown. More names will be announced as we move forward.

- The surgery on the injured wrist of Jon Davis was successful, yet more intensive than originally thought. Davis had four bones in his wrist dislocated, and several frayed ligaments. Davis' doctors had never seen such a severe wrist dislocation. Davis now has several pins holding the repairs in place, and the wrist has been placed in a hard cast. We'll have updates on Davis' condition going forward.

- We are pleased to announce that the talented Shawn Spears will be on hand for a look in Manassas on June 12th. Spears is perhaps best known as "Gavin Spears" in WWE or for his incredible feud with Colt Cabana in Ohio Valley Wrestling. ROH officials have received countless recommendations on Spears, and look forward to seeing him in action in Manassas.

- Signed for Manassas on June 12th is an incredible match up. Kenny King has shined more than one could have expected on Ring of Honor on HDNet, and his stock has without question continued to rise. Now, under the tutelage of "A Double", King looks to take his stock higher than ever as he's signed to face Bryan Danielson on June 12th in Manassas! Can King take that next step, or will "the best in the world" bring him back down to reality?

- Guido Maritato told people he wanted to face the "toughest" competition in Ring of Honor when he returns on June 13th at the Hammerstein Ballroom. Well, he'll get "tough" as he has signed to face Jay Briscoe one-on-one! Briscoe was excited about the match, stating, "I know Guido can go, and I know he's skilled. I'm flattered he wants a shot at me, man. But now Guido gonna have to put his money where his mouth is. Time to man up."

- The BIG TEN SALE is back at ROHWrestling.com. You can purchase over 100 DVD's on sale for $10 each, tickets for our four events in June for as low as $10 each, plus save an additional 10% off your next order (which actually brings the costs of these DVD's and tickets to only $9 each). For a complete list of all titles included in this sale along with the 10% discount code click here: http://www.rohwrestling.com/news/article.aspx?id=860.

- In the next Newswire, we'll announce the final two TV main events to be filmed on May 29th and 30th in Philly, announce the first talent rosters for June's live events in Detroit and Chicago, and we hope to have another update on the condition of El Generico.

May 20th: In case you missed the big news, we now know that Tyler Black has selected to face Jimmy Jacobs in a Steel Cage Match on June 26th in Detroit! The announcement of Black’s choice was made yesterday afternoon in the main page article entitled “Disappointment?â€(http://www.rohwrestling.com/news/article.aspx?id=2810). The article begs the question – what is going through the mind of Jimmy Jacobs? Between the First Blood match signed for June 13th at the Hammerstein, and now this brutal cage match, one has to wonder. Tickets for both New York and Detroit are on sale now at www.rohwrestling.com ! And don’t forget that ROH Ambassador Ric Flair will be on hand in both cities!

May 20th: The latest Ring of Honor Video Wire is up and available for viewing at http://www.you-tube.com/watch?v=PXJlX8dVMYA&fmt=18 , with words from Chris Hero, the American Wolves w/ Shane Hagadorn, World Champion Jerry Lynn, ROH Ambassador Ric Flair, and a look at this week’s episode of ROH on HDNet!

May 20th: El Generico contacted ROH officials late yesterday after seeing another orthopedic surgeon for his injured knee. While he has a meniscus tear, and the possibility of surgical repair still exists, doctors have medically cleared Generico to perform! And perform he will! He will be on hand for the May 29th and 30th ROH on HDNet National Television tapings in Philly, and will be involved in the 5th of the 6 main events to be filmed. And revenge will be on his mind as the American Wolves will team with “that Young Knockout Kid†Chris Hero to take on Kevin Steen, the returning El Generico, and KENTA! Tickets are available now at www.rohwrestling.com . This 6 Man Tag Team match is a main event anywhere in the world!

May 20th: Get ready Manassas, with Generico’s clearance yesterday comes a tremendous tag team match for June 12th. The knee of Generico will be tested as he and Kevin Steen will team to face Nick and Matt Jackson, the Young Bucks! If the Bucks can score the upset in Manassas, they will be well on their way to securing a permanent spot in the ROH tag team division! Tickets are on sale now!

May 20th: The 6th and final television main event has also been signed, and it will pit two of the very best in the world against one another for the third time. The first bout went to a brilliant time limit draw. The second incredible match ended in a double countout. Since then, these men have teamed and wrestled an absolute classic for the World Tag Team Titles. On May 30th in Philly at the Arena it will be Danielson-Black III. And should Black and Danielson defeat the American Wolves on the 29th, there is the intriguing possibility that this match could feature the ROH World Tag Team Champions against each other! One thing is for certain, this match promises to be another can’t miss classic. Get your tickets now at www.rohwrestling.com !

May 20th: Are you keeping up with ROH on Twitter? Visit twitter.com/rohonhdnet and stay informed!

May 20th: Speaking of Tyler Black, he was set to face Jerry Lynn for the ROH World Title before a lingering neck injury put him on the shelf. Now in Manassas on June 12th, he’s signed once again to face Lynn. But this time, it is going to be a non-title match. “Tyler is a great athlete,†said Lynn. “And on any other occasion I’d gladly put the title up. But I’m preparing for Austin Aries on June 13th. This will be my biggest test on my biggest stage. Tyler will have his chance again, believe me.†While Tyler isn’t happy about the match being non-title, he understands. “I know Jerry is preparing for Aries, just like I’m preparing for Jacobs. In fact, I can help him be ready for Austin. But Jerry better be ready in Manassas, because whether or not we both have other battles on our mind, I’m going to be prepared to beat him. Title or not.†Should Black and Danielson capture the tag titles in Philadelphia, their scheduled matches in Manassas and New York will change.

May 20th: ROH officials are happy to announce that former World Champion, Nigel McGuinness, will be on hand in Manassas and New York. He will make an appearance on both events.

May 20th: In Boston, Jimmy Rave and the Embassy attacked the Necro Butcher and the “crown jewel†disgustingly insulted Necro by repeatedly spitting in his face. In Edison, Rave showed his true colors by doing everything he could to avoid the madman. But now he won’t have the chance to run or hide behind anyone, as signed for New York on June 13th is Jimmy Rave versus the Necro Butcher in singles competition! Prince Nana left the door open by not keeping his eye on an open contract that Rave signed for the date, and word has it that Colt Cabana was the one that noticed it. “I will take care of Boo Boo Cabana in due time,†said the Prince. “He has put my crown jewel in harm ways, but that hillbilly Butcher will not harm a hair on Jimmy Rave’s head in that dump New York City. I will see to it.â€

May 20th: The following talents will be on hand when Ring of Honor returns to Detroit on June 26th and Chicago on June 27th: Austin Aries, Davey Richards, Brent Albright, Colt Cabana, D’Lo Brown, Bryan Danielson, Delirious with Daizee Haze, and “Skullkrusher†Rasche Brown. These names are in addition to the previous announcement of Petey Williams, Joey Ryan, KENTA, and “Nature Boy†Ric Flair. More talent and match announcements will be forthcoming. Tickets to both events are on sale now at www.rohwrestling.com !

May 20th: Just two days remain in the BIG TEN SALE. You can purchase tickets for all live events in June for only $10 each, purchase over 100 DVD's priced at $10 each, plus save 10% Off your next order. For complete details click here: http://www.rohwrestling.com/news/article.aspx?id=860 .

It's great that Generico is coming back to compete, he will definitely need that surgery sometime though so hopefully they find a good way to get him out of action for a little while or atleast once he's finished with his current feud with the Wolves. He's already got two good matches to come back to, one with Steen and KENTA on his team where they take on the Wolves and Hero which should be good and then another against the Young Bucks, I could see Steenerico losing to them as well to get them over and established in ROH, I could see them going quite far in the tag division.

Black Vs Jacobs in a steel cage match could be brutal, Jacobs should win that because I am sick of Black destroying him everytime they are near one another! Some pretty good news.

May 22nd: This week's edition of "Ring of Honor Wrestling" on HDNet features Jimmy Jacobs & Brodie Lee vs. Necro Butcher & Delirious; Kenny Omega vs. Jay Briscoe vs. Kenny King; Chris Hero vs. Eddie Kingston; Dark City Fight Club vs. Irish Airborne; plus more. Don't miss the action airing at 8 PM on Saturday night. For replay information and additional details visit: http://www.hd.net/ringofhonor.html .

May 22nd: Ring of Honor is happy to announce that Kenny King, Eddie Edwards, Kevin Steen and El Generico, Claudio Castagnoli, Bison Smith, and former World Champion Nigel McGuinness will be in action on June 26th in Detroit and June 27th in Chicago Ridge when ROH swings through the Midwest once again. Already announced for Detroit is a Steel Cage match between Jimmy Jacobs and Tyler Black. In addition, KENTA and “Nature Boy†Ric Flair will be on hand in both cities! More match announcements for this great weekend of events will begin next week in the Newswire.

May 22nd: Austin Aries has been reportedly training like crazy for Jerry Lynn and his shot at becoming the first 2-time ROH World Champion on 6/13 in New York. But before he gets to the Hammerstein, he’s signed on as part of a Four Corner Survival match in Manassas. In this match the three men he’ll oppose are no slouches. He’ll be facing a man who has been on a complete and absolute tear as of late, Roderick Strong. He’ll be facing a man who has come into ROH with a reputation, D’Lo Brown. And he’ll be facing one half of the World Tag Team Champion, Eddie Edwards. Maybe Aries thought a four-way would be an easy night before perhaps the biggest of his career. He thought wrong.

May 22nd: Ring of Honor officials are not sure how Jacobs and Black will fare physically or emotionally after their First Blood Match in New York on June 13th. Even more worrisome is the aftermath of what is sure to be a brutal Cage Match between the two in Detroit on 6/26. Both men are scheduled to be in Chicago on 6/27, but no one is sure if either man will even be able to compete. ROH officials are taking a ‘wait-and-see’ approach when it comes to finalizing matches for Jacobs and Black in Chicago.

May 22nd: Last time the American Wolves crossed paths with Kevin Steen and El Generico in New York, they were on the losing end of things. But that didn’t stop The Wolves from destroying both Steen and Generico afterward. Since then, they took the titles in a ‘Tables are legal’ match, and Generico’s knee – suffering from an injury at the hands of Davey Richards – went out. When Generico informed ROH officials that he was deemed medically fit to wrestle, it became only a matter of time until Steen and Generico would face the Wolves again. That time is June 13th in New York. ROH officials are working with both teams to see what, if any, stipulation should be added to this match.

May 22nd: A nice feature on Colt “Boom Boom†Cabana was recently done by the Chicago Jewish News. The article talks about Cabana’s career, including the upcoming ROH Chicago return on June 27th. Visit www.chicagojewishnews.com/stories.htm?sid=1 to read the story.

May 22nd: Speaking of Cabana, he has signed on to compete in a Four Corner Survival on June 13th at the Hammerstein. He will oppose Claudio Castagnoli, Bryan Danielson, and D’Lo Brown in New York. Everyone is well aware of the past issues between Danielson and Claudio, notably what happened between the two in NYC some months ago, Cabana was defeated by D’Lo under controversial circumstances at ‘Supercard of Honor IV’, and even Dragon and D’Lo has some heated interaction in Houston. And now Claudio’s association with the Embassy has gotten him on Cabana’s bad side. There are underlying stories abound in this match!

May 22nd: Rumor has it that a major announcement will be made next week in the newswire regarding the World Title Match on June 13th in New York.

May 22nd: A special Memorial Day Weekend Sale is now ongoing at ROHWrestling.com. For every 3 Ring of Honor DVD's purchased, you will receive 2 free. That's right the Buy 3, Get 2 Free Sale has returned. Ring of Honor's "7th Anniversary Show" is now on the website for preorder and can be included in this offer. For complete details on how to take advantage of the sale click here: http://www.rohwrestling.com/news/article.aspx?id=2811 .

May 26th: As announced this morning in the main page article http://www.rohwrestling.com/news/article.aspx?id=2815 , the American Wolves will face Kevin Steen and El Generico in a submissions match on June 13th in New York! Kevin Steen has been rabid at the thought of using tables, chairs, ladders, basically anything to defeat – to DESTROY – the Wolves, but Richards and Edwards see it differently. “WE call the shots,†said Edwards. “We wear the gold. So Steen can cry about whatever he wants, it’s our way or no way.†Judging their comments in the article, it seems obvious that the Wolves feel they can exploit Generico’s injured knee and use the weakness to gain a sure victory. Steen and Generico are fighting uphill in this match for sure. Can the underdog overcome the odds? Can Generico protect that injured knee against bloodthirsty Wolves?

May 26th: Signed for June 26th in Detroit is a very important match for former ROH World Champion Nigel McGuinness. In Houston, he was scheduled to tag with Claudio Castagnoli to battle Brent Albright and Blue Demon, Jr. But Nigel’s health prevented him from participating in that match, and Castagnoli was none too happy. Claudio took to attacking Nigel from behind, adding insult to his already apparent injury. Now Claudio will have to look Nigel in the eye and answer for his actions.

May 26th: Take No Prisoners 2009 is coming to Pay-Per-View! Also announced on the main page (http://www.rohwrestling.com/news/article.aspx?id=2812), the latest Ring of Honor Pay-Per-View broadcast coming from Houston, Texas will begin airing on June 12th on InDemand, Direct TV, DISH Network, & TVN in the United States and in Canada on Bell Express Vu & Viewer’s Choice Canada.

May 26th: Signed for July 25th in Toronto is a grudge match that has brewed since “Northern Navigationâ€. Chris Hero versus Lance Storm. Need we say anything more? We’ll have Storm’s opponent for the event on July 24th soon here in the Newswire.

May 26th: Last week in the Newswire, Prince Nana stated that he and the Embassy would “take care of Boo Boo Cabana in due timeâ€. That due time is apparently June 27th in Chicago. Over the weekend, Nana contacted ROH officials and he has challenged Cabana to face the Embassy in a Street Fight! Representing the Embassy will be Joey Ryan and Bison Smith, with their associate, Claudio Castagnoli. “You tell that Cabana that his time of shenanigans is over. He put the Crown Jewel in harm’s way of that filthy Necro Butcher in New York, now he will pay for his mistake.†As of press time, Cabana hadn’t selected his partners, but once he does we’ll announce them right here in the Newswire.

May 26th: A huge thank you from everyone at ROH for getting the amount of Twitter followers over 2,000! Not a follower yet, go on over to www.twitter.com/rohonhdnet , and get up to speed!

May 26th: The Buy 3, Get 2 Free Ring of Honor DVD Sale has been extended until Thursday at noon at ROHWrestling.com. This sale will also be in effect at both live events this weekend in Philadelphia. For complete details click here: http://www.rohwrestling.com/news/article.aspx?id=2811 .

May 26th: Ring of Honor is happy to announce that the ROH World Title match on June 13th between Jerry Lynn and Austin Aries will have two special guests in the ringside area. Former ROH World Champion Nigel McGuinness has requested that President Cary Silkin allow him to sit ringside and watch the match. This will be the first defense by Jerry Lynn since Houston that Nigel will see, and he reportedly “wants the best seat in the house to watch the man that dethroned himâ€. Silkin hesitated in granting the request, not knowing what intentions McGuinness may have, and consulted Ambassador Ric Flair on the matter. As a result of those conversations, ROH President Cary Silkin has appointed Ambassador “Nature Boy†Ric Flair as the special guest referee for the contest. Flair and McGuinness had some choice words for each other back at “Stylin’ and Profilin’â€, and Silkin feels confident that Flair can neutralize anything that Nigel may have up his sleeve.

June 1st: ROH would like to once more extend a gracious ‘thank you’ to the fine fans in Philadelphia that made our third set of National Television Tapings a success. Without the fans, none of this is possible and everyone at Ring of Honor is grateful for the support! ROH and HDNet returns to the Arena on June 19th and 20th to tape weeks 19 through 24 of Ring of Honor Wrestling on HDNet! Tickets are available now at www.rohwrestling.com!

June 1st: As announced earlier today on the ROHWrestling.com main page (http://www.rohwrestling.com/news/article.aspx?id=2832), a humongous tag team match has been signed for June 26th in Detroit! Bryan Danielson has only one very specific thing left unaccomplished here in Ring of Honor – winning the World Tag team Championship. And now he may have found the right partner. Should the American Wolves somehow withstand the challenge of Kevin Steen and El Generico in New York, the titles will be on the line in Detroit. Danielson and KENTA versus the Wolves on June 16th! This match will take place whether or not the Wolves retain! Get your tickets now!

June 1st: As he announced in person this past Friday in Philadelphia, “Nature Boy†Ric Flair has stepped down as ROH Ambassador to focus on his return to WWE. Everyone at Ring of Honor understands the situation, and wishes nothing but the best to an absolute legend in our industry. Don’t miss out on what could be your last few chances to see the “Nature Boy†in Ring of Honor! Good tickets are available for June 12th in Manassas, VA; June 13th in New York, NY; June 26th in Detroit, MI; June 27th in Chicago, IL; and July 25th in Toronto, ON. Visit http://www.rohwrestling.com/news/article.aspx?id=2737 for more information and autograph pricing!

June 1st: Former ROH World Champion Nigel McGuinness did more than his share of “stirring the pot†at the past weekends television tapings in Philadelphia. Nigel, with his trademark smile and a new haircut, seemed to catch practically everyone off guard, leaving everybody he encountered wondering what is up his sleeve. One of the men who have been taken aback by Nigel’s actions as of late is Austin Aries. “I’m not sure what McGuinness is trying to do,†said A Double. “He’s going to be ringside for my World Title Match in New York against Lynn. He’s telling people he’s going to wrestle without saying one way or another whether or not he’s actually healthy enough to get it done. Then he shows up in Philly and it’s more of the same. Yet he’s signed to a match in Detroit. Well, if he’s healthy enough, and I’m not convinced he is, how about he signs for a match in Chicago? Against me. The greatest man that ever lived. If he’s not 100%, he won’t last against A Double and he can go about (expletive) in someone else’s pool.†ROH officials hope to have word from Nigel as soon as possible.

June 1st: The American Wolves put El Generico’s knee to the test in Philadelphia, and it isn’t looking good for the generic luchador. Generico was obviously not at 100% during either night of the HDNet Television tapings, and it caught up to him on Saturday. “We knew Generico was stupid, but NO ONE thought he was THAT dumb,†said Eddie Edwards. “To get into the ring with the best tag team in the world on a bum wheel – which we caused – is career suicide. And in two short weeks we have those buffoons in a ‘submissions match’? ROH might as well write out our checks for the winner’s share now.†Generico maintained that he will be ready for the Young Bucks on June 12th and the Wolves on June 13th.

June 1st: You can now save 25% off your next order at ROHWrestling.com. This sale is valid on all DVD's, live event tickets, apparel, & more. For complete details along with the discount code click here: http://www.rohwrestling.com/news/article.aspx?id=2215.

June 1st: Those in attendance on Saturday night in Philly saw chaos erupt as Eddie Kingston was able to get his hands on Chris Hero. Kingston has talked about his desires to hurt Hero on recent ROH Videowires, and the two battered one another throughout the Arena, catching HDNet film crews and security staff by surprise. There is no doubt that Kingston is bloodthirsty for Hero, while Hero has stated time and time again that the “last of a dying breed†is beneath him. Kingston has signed on to be at the next ROH on HDNet TV Tapings, but Hero will be out of the country competing for Pro Wrestling NOAH. One thing is for certain, whoever will be facing Kingston will feel every ounce of his frustration toward Hero.

June 1st: In addition to Eddie Kingston (6/20 only), we’re happy to announce the following talents for the next set of ROH on HDNet Television Tapings: Colt “Boom Boom†Cabana, Bryan Danielson, Nigel McGuinness, Tyler Black, Cheech and Cloudy, D’Lo Brown, Jay Briscoe, and Sonjay Dutt (6/20 only). We’ll have more talent and main event matches soon right here in the Newswire!

June 3rd: In case you happened to miss the main page announcement yesterday (http://www.rohwrestling.com/news/article.aspx?id=2835), ROH and Pro Wrestling NOAH representatives have come together to make the match that people have been wishing for: KENTA versus Tyler Black! The potential in this match is off the charts, and it has been signed for 6/27 in Chicago. Don’t be left out! There can only be one “first time match†between these two! Get your tickets now!

June 3rd: Colt Cabana has been waiting for the right time to make move on D’Lo Brown. Brown, who defeated Cabana under suspicious circumstances at Supercard of Honor IV, hasn’t made many friends in ROH since debuting, and now he’s going to have to face Cabana again. “D’Lo as a Chicago guy that ‘made it’ was someone we all could look up to when we were younger,†said Cabana. “But when I met him, and obviously when I wrestled him, those feelings, that admiration went bye-bye. Now in Detroit he’s gonna get what’s coming to him.†It’ll be Cabana versus Brown in Detroit on June 27th!

June 3rd: Good news for Ring of Honor fans with a Sony Playstation 3 console. Ring of Honor Wrestling on HDNet is now available for download in the Sony Playstation 3 Online Store at a very reasonable price. The Standard Definition broadcast is $1.99, while the full High Definition broadcast is $2.99. ROH extends a big thank you to Sony and HDNet for making this possible.

June 3rd: Signed for the next set of National TV Tapings for Ring of Honor Wrestling on HDNet in Philadelphia on June 19th and 20th are: ROH World Champion Jerry Lynn (6/20 only), Kevin Steen, El Generico, Sami Callihan, Roderick Strong, The Dark City Fight Club, Claudio Castagnoli, Kenny Omega (6/19 only), and Davey Richards. Tickets are on sale and available now at www.rohwrestling.com.

June 3rd: Josh Raymond and Christin Able have been cutting their teeth for some time on the independent tag team circuit, and have impressed ROH officials, notably during the last swing through Canada. Now the cantankerous Michigan natives have taken their biggest step to date in ROH, signing for the biggest match of their careers on June 26th. Their opponents? Former ROH World Tag Team Champions – Kevin Steen and El Generico! Generico’s knee was obviously still an issue at the latest ROH on HDNet Television Tapings. Could Able and Raymond shock the world in Detroit?

June 3rd: The latest commercial for this weekend’s episode of ROH on HDNet can be seen at http://blip.tv/file/2185706/. If you don’t get HDNet, call your cable provider! Demand to see ROH on HDNet in your town!

June 3rd: Signed for Chicago on June 27th is a Four Corner Survival pitting a variety of personalities against one another. It’ll be “Addicted to Love†Rhett Titus squaring off against Sami Callihan, the returning Egotistico Fantastico, and a man that has been on a role since finally splitting from the Age of the Fall – Delirious! Will Delirious continue his winning ways in Chicago?

June 3rd: For those of you who purchased ROH’s “7th Anniversary Show†DVD, we thank you very much for your purchase. It has come to our attention that there are technical issues on some of the discs. If you have one of these faulty discs, please refer to http://www.rohwrestling.com/MessageBoard/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=47757 for information on how to get that disc replaced. Thank you in advance for your patience while we resolve these issues.

June 3rd: The 25% Off Sale continues until Friday morning at 10am at ROHWrestling.com. You can save on all DVD's, live event tickets, apparel, & much more. For the complete details along with the discount code click here: http://www.rohwrestling.com/news/article.aspx?id=2215.

Already announced is NEW ROH World Champion Austin Aries vs. Roderick Strong, Tyler Black vs. Jerry Lynn, Bryan Danielson vs. Sonjay Dutt, and Jay & Mark Briscoe vs. Kenny King & Rhett Titus. Also scheduled to appear is Nigel McGuinness, World Tag Team Champions The American Wolves; Kevin Steen & El Generico, Colt Cabana, D-Lo Brown, Eddie Kingston, & many more. Tickets will also be available at the door this event starting at $10 each.

June 18th: This Saturday's episode of "Ring of Honor Wrestling" features the HDNet debut of KENTA, as he goes one-on-one with Roderick Strong. Other bouts include The Necro Butcher vs. Claudio Castagnoli, Kenny King vs. Kenny Omega, MsChif vs. Neveah, and Eddie Kingston in action. For more details visit http://www.hd.net/ringofhonor.html.

June 18th: The latest edition of the ROH Videowire is now available for viewing at http://www.rohvideos.com/watch?v=fORdJFDrZAI. The heartfelt 10 Bell Salute given by the entire ROH Family in honor of Mitsuharu Misawa is shown, as well as words from the Briscoe Brothers, the American Wolves, and Bryan Danielson. Plus, we get a new “trailer” from Joey Ryan, a look at the ROH 7th Anniversary Show on DVD, and a sneak peak at this weekend’s episode of ROH on HDNet. And finally, we have footage of new ROH World Champion Austin Aries and his post-match celebration from New York.

June 18th: Speaking of Aries, his verdict is in. His scheduled match this weekend in Philadelphia against Roderick Strong will NOT be for the ROH World Title. In short, Aries plainly told Strong that he’ll need to beat him on HDNet in order to “get his name thrown into the hat”, and only then will he ever have a shot at his title. When asked for a comment, Strong retorted, “What’s there to say now? I’ll give him my response in person.”

June 18th: Former ROH World Champion Jerry Lynn has had a rough week since losing the World Title in New York. “I said to myself, if Tyler wins it, I can live with it,” commented the classy Lynn. “He beat me clean in Manassas, and then I knew that here was a guy with a tremendous future. But then Aries took advantage of a situation caused by Jimmy Jacobs and now he wears the belt.” In the past, Lynn has publically questioned whether or not he still has what it takes to hang on after a stellar 20+ year career. “Winning the title told me I belonged. It validated everything. But now, I’ve got to take another hard look at things. Losing is part of the game. But losing the title at 46 years old might just be father time telling me it’s time to go.” Lynn is scheduled to face Tyler Black once more on Saturday in Philadelphia.

June 18th: Aries apparently wasn’t through wheeling and dealing, as his matches scheduled for next weekend in Detroit and Chicago respectively became much more interesting once he claimed the World Title for the second time. The Six Man Scramble that Aries is scheduled for in Detroit is a non-title affair, but now with added intrigue as ROH officials have ruled that a win by anyone in the match other than Aries would propel that competitor into a World Title match down the line. Aries was unhappy when hearing this news, but understood, “Look, I get it,” said A Double. “If the champion loses in a non-title match, then whoever he lost to gets a chance at the belt.” He went on to add, “But that just tells me one thing – that I better make sure no one but the “greatest man who ever lived” wins. Simple.”

June 18th: Nigel McGuinness will have the test of a lifetime as he returns to action this weekend against Tyler Black in Philly. The injured arm of Nigel has had some time to recuperate, but there are those out there that aren’t buying Nigel’s claims that he’s ready for action. Tyler Black is on a road to rebuilding his confidence, after losing out on a ripe chance to pluck the ROH Title in New York, and he knows a win over the former champion would serve him well.

June 18th: Austin Aries is keeping his eye on McGuinness this weekend as well, as he signed to face McGuinness in Chicago weeks before he regained the World Title. Since McGuinness never got a rematch against then-champion Jerry Lynn, ROH officials have ruled that Aries/McGuinness in Chicago will be a World Title Match. “Seems like the fates have a soft spot for ol’ McGuinness,” said Nigel. “And I’m obliged for sure. A Double better keep his eye on the ball, or he might have the shortest reign in history.” Don’t forget that “Nature Boy” Ric Flair also appears in both Detroit and Chicago! Tickets available at www.rohwrestling.com!

June 18th: Grizzly Redwood has petitioned the ROH Booking Committee to face “Dirty” Ernie Osiris in a “Beard versus Beard” match. Prince Nana has vehemently declared that he will not allow this outrage to occur. More on this as it develops.

June 18th: You heard the American Wolves’ thoughts in the Videowire. As reported a couple of days ago, ROH officials have seen their phones ring non-stop with calls from Kevin Steen, DEMANDING a rematch because of how the Wolves secured victory at Manhattan Mayhem III. Generico had smartly battled to protect his knee the entire match, the clear target of the Wolves, and was set to bring home the titles with his patented Super Brainbuster. Then Shane Hagadorn distracted referee Paul Turner, and opened the window that Richards needed to grab the ringbell and attack Generico’s knee. Moments later Edwards had cinched in his Achilles Lock and the match was over. But that’s not the end of things. ROH officials, along with Steen and Generico, are outraged at the way the Wolves did business, but the effect serves their cause. “Who cares how, we beat ‘em,” said Edwards. “They don’t get another title match.” ROH President Cary Silkin, in particular, is disappointed how things went down, but found a happy resolution. Silkin has ordered another match between the two teams, taking place on June 27th in Chicago. “The Wolves are correct,” said Silkin. “This match won’t be for the titles. But that’s a technicality because I’m mandating that if Steen and Generico can beat the Wolves in Chicago, they will be granted a championship match of their choosing.” Richards’ countered, “That’s fine, but if WE win, they NEVER get another shot as long as we hold the belts.” Silkin has agreed to that stipulation and the match is set. It will be Steen and Generico against the Wolves after all in Chicago, with the future of the ROH World Tag Team Titles seemingly at stake! Get your tickets now!

June 30th: The fans in both Detroit and Chicago deserve one hell of a pat on the back, and their enthusiasm and passion definitely shined last weekend! From the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU to the D and the Windy City for supporting Ring of Honor and showing up in a major way! ROH returns to Detroit on December 4th and we roll back into Chi-Town on September 19th! Tickets are on sale for both events at www.rohwrestling.com, and don’t forget, on 9/19 in Chicago, Bret “Hitman” Hart will appear!

June 30th: Tyler Black went toe-to-toe with KENTA for nearly twenty minutes last Saturday, and it took TWO Go-2-Sleeps for KENTA to secure the victory. The ROH faithful chanted “this is awesome” as the match went on, and both men, exhausted from the incredible display, showed immense respect for one another as they shook hands and embraced after the final bell tolled. “It took me a few times before I was able to beat Bryan (Danielson),” said Black. “And I feel like I was a lot closer to beating KENTA in my first try than I was with Dragon. I am already looking forward to proving myself to KENTA again.” Perhaps a budding rivalry was born last Saturday night in Chicago.

June 30th: Jimmy Jacobs left the Frontier Fieldhouse last Saturday night in a much different way than he had hoped. After the shocking events of Detroit on Friday night, where some 50 members of the Age of the Fall swarmed the ringside area, overwhelming security and the fans, Jacobs appeared to have been reveling in his role as a God among Man. In that surreal scene, with his followers carrying him out of the building on their shoulders like a King, Jacobs looked like he’d outsmarted everyone. But Saturday night in Chicago couldn’t have been a more perfect example of the opposite – his followers, down in numbers, actually left him behind after Tyler Black, El Generico, Kevin Steen, and Delirious thwarted whatever plan Jacobs had. As Jacobs was hung from the rafters, shouts of “disappointment” filled the air, and when it was all done, Jacobs bolted through the front door and was seen on his knees in tears as the rain fell outside. All attempts to contact Jimmy Jacobs since Saturday have gone unanswered.

June 30th: Nigel McGuinness said that fate was on his side as he rolled into Chicago. But the man that has been stirring the pot was visibly shaken after falling to ROH World Champion Austin Aries last weekend. Fans have noticed a lack of the patented McGuinness Lariat since he’s returned to action, and more than one has commented that Nigel just doesn’t look like himself. Sources have intimated that Nigel is having a rough time trying to reinvent himself in the ring, as he’s physically unable to use the maneuver that made him famous. He’ll have two more opportunities to right the ship when ROH returns to Toronto for ‘Death Before Dishonor VII’ weekend. We’ll have Nigel’s match announcements soon, right here in the ‘wire.

June 30th: Kevin Steen and El Generico did it! They’ve defeated the American Wolves and in doing so, have earned the right to name a date and stipulation for their next championship match. “It was only a matter of time,” said Steen. “The Wolves have shown they’ll go to any length, stoop to any level, dig into any garbage can, but at the end of the day, we took it all and kept coming back. Now we get our shot, our chance to take back the World Tag Team Titles, and we wanted it in Toronto! But of course, Eddie Edwards strategically scheduled a NOAH tour for himself so Generico and I have to wait. But that’s fine, rest assured, we’ll both be in action in Toronto. And Davey, I know you’ll be in Toronto too. And we’ve all seen that Wolves don’t hunt so well when they’re by all by themselves.” Davey Richards refused comment other than to say, “I’ll be in Toronto, but I’ll hardly be alone, fatty.” More on this as it develops.

And in Toronto on July 25th, in the first ever Toronto Gauntlet, I’ll show five other wannabes. And when it’s finished, I’ll be looking at you Austin Aries. And I owe you one.”

July 2nd: Words were exchanged a couple of days ago between Kevin Steen and Davey Richards stemming from Steen and Generico’s victory over the Wolves last Saturday night in Chicago. Steen made reference to Wolves not hunting so well on their own, and Richards quipped that he wouldn’t be alone in Toronto. We now know why he said that. Signed for July 24th on night one of “Death Before Dishonor VII†is a humongous tag team grudge match. Davey Richards has signed to team with long time stable mate, “That Young Knockout Kid†Chris Hero, to take on Kevin Steen and his partner for the evening, Lance Storm!
