Nice signings for both teams. Guess that means for sure Collison is done in Dallas.

Dwight tells the Lakers he's 50-50 lol.

Don't you agree that Melo and Bron owe him a gift?

He made Bron a hero all about winning (he goes to GSW if he wants too)
He made Melo look like a man of conviction (he doesn't opt in, and just goes to BK)

I mean they don't have to pay a PR team thanks to this dummy

Bron was off the hook once he won that championship and became so good that he made Wade a sidekick but yeah Dwight has made himself far and away the biggest marked man for getting ripped into in the NBA. Guess we got to take everything wit ha grain of salt no matter what gets said until the 10th. I feel sorry for his agent.

Guess this is as official as it gets now.

GM Mitch Kupchak announced that Dwight Howard's decision is "to not return to the Lakers," meaning Howard will sign with the Houston Rockets.

"We have been informed of Dwight's decision to not return to the Lakers," Kupchak said in a statement on the team's web page. "Naturally we're disappointed. However, we will now move forward in a different direction with the future of the franchise and, as always, will do our best to build the best team possible, one our great lakers fans will be proud to support." That's about as official as it will get and the "50-50" story that broke earlier Friday evening has done some irreparable damage to Howard's image. The Rockets are in discussions with teams to deal Omer Asik for either Josh Smith or Ryan Anderson. Howard changed his Twitter picture to himself in a Rockets jersey, so the Dwightmare is unofficially over.

I always took the path of he was a Bynum replacement. I would rather face him leaving than the thought of to max or not max out Bynum like Phili did and have the future ride on his knees.

I got that he never asked to come, but I also got he came because he did one of the dumbest opt ins ever. He had reasons to leave, but honestly one thing the year showed was he didn't want to be fully in. Its just not about being him or Kobe. Is the whole arguing and screaming at Nash till Metta separates them. The whole him wanting the ball on the block over Pau, ignoring he had the second most post ups of all bigs behind Al Jefferson and had a high turnover rate, low conversion, and the hacking thing. Its been a mess of a year from death, to coaches, to injuries, but the whole thing I always looked at Dwight as being was a piece to a puzzle they try to fit together next summer and as a co star, trolling brandun aside

I tell you I didn't see a guy who should have his name up there with Kobe, Shaq, West, Goodrich, Worthy, Kareem, and Magic. Hell not even over Scott, Fisher, Cooper, Odom, Horry, Fox based off his laker tenure.

I wish him well in Houston, I'm not even sure how they all fit but I won't wish injury on a cat. I will wish that he meets the Lakers in the playoffs and they send him home. I don't advocate tanking because I don't think the west as a whole is strong or unbeatable, and because Dr Buss never would advocate that for the Lakers.

I truly don't know. The way the west looks tanking makes no sense.

- GS got a semi-star in Iggy but I think Jack and Landry will be missed
- Clips will be good but they need a backup pg and big
- Dallas doesn't really have a plan
- Kings, Blazers, Wolves, Suns are just there like always
- Dont know how a rookie coach handles Memphis
- SA usually flames out bad the year after a finals run
- OKC lacks a third scorer and needs to re-up Thabo
- Plicans got better but are a young unknown who I think will surprise people
- Denver lost players and Geroge Karl

I mean realistically I get the whole the sky is falling thing but realistically. Kobe is set to return in December at the latest. Pau gets the paint and C spot which he won titles at. Nash should be healthier at least after a summer off to rehab his leg break. I'm not saying they are a hca team, but I don't think 5/6 seed and second round depending on matchups is impossible. Games aren't won on paper, but on the court, and all it takes is health and momentum at the right time

Yeah it's a 2 year deal. Knew Utah was gonna lose both bigs which is why they should have made a move at the deadline. Time to really see what Kanter and Favors can do.

they renounced his rights anyhow today for Biedrins and Jefferson.

So that leaves Monta and Josh as the guys who will be overpaid by Dallas, Atlanta, or Detroit. I'm assuming Jennings is matched by the Bucks no matter what.

Granger and Gay in the block IMO.

MWP, Charlie V, Tyrus Thomas are the amnesty guys

Until it gets said otherwise still in full belief that Smith is going to Houston. Monta to Dallas makes sense at this point and I could see Dallas trading for Granger. Paul George is without a doubt the franchise guy now who they will eventually have to give a max deal and Granger no longer fits in the picture. I don't see Gay being dealt myself and I think that is pretty accurate about the guys who get the taken off the books.

I was browsing my twitter feed when I saw that ESPN was reporting that Josh Smith has agreed to a 4-year, $56 million deal with the Pistons. Which made a lot of people on twitter responding that he chose to go for the money than rather win somewhere else. As a Rockets fan I had a little optimism that he would come here but it didn't happen. So thoughts on this?

Def was a money move because I that isn't a team winning anything anytime soon even though they got a solid looking young squad now. Makes terrible sense from a basketball standpoint for him because it means he is going to play SF which means he's going to get it in his head that he has to shoot jumpers since Drummond and Monroe will occupy the paint. He needed to go somewhere where he would play at PF and play more in the paint.

Watch Dumars trade for Gay at sg lol. He is trying to top Charlie and Ben.

Wright - Blazers 2y/6m
Landry - Kings 4y/27m
Livingston - Nets 1y/800k
D.Harris - Mavs 3y/9M
Garcia - Rockets 2y/2.5M
Jack - Cavs 4y/24M

JO being bud on by Warriors, Rockets, and Dallas
Lakers contacted Odom and Brand (come home Lamar)
Fisher negotiating a new deal with OKC (lol fuck harden and martin)

Gay at SG wouldn't be bad at all really. I would just fear Josh Smith trying to think he is Kevin Durant or something now that he is going to be PF and chuck then out of games.

Figured you'd be happy about the Lamar to L.A thing even though he is like very much past his prime.
