NXT - Weekly TV Show Discussion

I havent watched it yet. But im glad their building up lars sullivan. I predicted big things are down the road for him since i saw him turn on his partner.

This week's show was good and a nice way to cap off the year.

- The Street Profits squash was alright.

- Moon vs Deville was decent. There was pretty much no heat in this match and no real drama, but it was okay for what it was. Post-match, Kairi Sane came out and challenged Moon. Oh, and Shayna Baszler made her debut afterwards by attacking Kairi.

- Gargano vs Black vs Dain vs Sullivan was a pretty good and fun ME. Gargano winning totally made sense, he finally got his redemption. Not sure how I feel about Black eating his first pin here, though, but at the same time, it doesn't really hurt him. So, at TakeOver: Philadelphia we're getting Almas vs Gargano, which is great, their last TakeOver match kicked ass, so this one will deliver, too. Also, the booking here allows for two scenarios to happen if Ciampa is healthy to return. Ciampa will either cost Gargano the title as he's about to win or Gargano wins and Ciampa comes out and challenges him immediately after. That way we get Ciampa vs Gargano during Mania weekend.

All in all, NXT TV was good this year, not to mention NXT TakeOvers. Keep it up in 2018, please and thank you!

Not sure how I feel about Black eating his first pin here

Sullivan is being built up as a monster, so he wasn't going to eat the pin. As for Dain, he could've taken it.

Black taking the pin was questionable, but I guess it doesn't really hurt him because of the No DQ stipulation and it also plays into Cole's revenge. Man, I thought they were saving Black's first loss for a TakeOver where he'd drop the title to someone, but oh well.

Sullivan & Black...Dain should have taken the pin.

- Shayna Baszler vs Dakota Kai was a fine squash and a nice in-ring debut for Baszler. Everything she did got a reaction and she's going to make a good heel.

- KO vs Mendoza was an okay back-and-forth match.

- Vega's promo was good.

- Sullivan vs Rush was a fun squash and also set up Sullivan/Dain.

- The Undisputed Era vs Strong & Black was a good and fun ME. TakeOver: Philadelphia is shaping up nicely.

And now its easier to understand why Sonya Deville
was drafted to the main roster...I have a feeling Baszler
is going to get a huge push...possibly even at the expense
of Ember Moon me thinks.

- Sullivan vs Rush was a fun squash and also set up Sullivan/Dain.

I have to be honest & say Sullivan bores me...and I think
SAni†Y should be on the main roster already. SmackDown
could use some chaos to distract everyone from the tedious
Shane/Bryan "feud"

I'm hoping Dain & Nikki Cross get a run in their respective
Rumble matches.

Sonya Deville is kinda meh and boring, she doesn't come off as a legitimate badass like Baszler. As for Baszler defeating Moon, it could happen. It won't be at TakeOver: Philadelphia, that'd be too soon, but I wouldn't be surprised if Ember got dethroned during Mania weekend.

Sullivan is only going to improve with time. Remember Strowman? I think most of us didn't like him at first and thought he was boring, but look at him now.

Oh I agree...I meant more along the lines of a
"Lets not have 2 women with the same gimmick on the same brand"
kind of deal...

True...I wasn't the biggest fan of Strowman...I'm trying to remember
when I did become a fan of his? Oh I remember...it was after the
Royal Rumble when he showed real intelligence and went after
Owens...after taking out Jericho.

Monsters with Intelligence are the best...and Strowman has proved
in the past that he does have a brain.

And that is also the main reason I hated what they did with Corbin &
his cash in...it made him look so fucking stupid....hence Moron Corbin.

Sullivan...well...I don't know...he reminds me of one of those mid-level
boss guys from Double Dragon...

Plus I'm a SAni†Y "Mark" so I want Dain to get the win when they do
fight...he won't...but that's what I want.

The go-home show for TakeOver was good. Gargano vs Dream was the highlight of the show.

Strong vs Bate was a pretty good and fun ME, it was the highlight of the show. Strong vs Dunne is gonna be great.

Also, good to see TM61 back.

So...I just finished watching the TakeOver Aftermatch show...
And like always I have a few notes.

~ Nikki Cross is great...I would have loved to have seen her
in the Women's rumble...but I guess it was better to pack the
match with women who haven't been around for years.

Can we pair Lana back up with Rusev & draft Lacey Evans
to SmackDown? At least Lacey can wrestle somewhat...and
she's lovely & tall...

~ I should like TM61 because Australia...but...Ehhh...they seem
a little generic to me. I like wrestlers to be characters...not remind
me of people I interact with on a daily basis.

~ The TakeOver recaps were cool & the more I see of Shayna Baszler
the more I like her.

~ Strong vs. Bate was solid...shame they didn't have more time.
While Roddy Strong is a great worker...he again seems a little generic.

Can we do something different with him?

Bate is always great to watch. He has such a unique style of
working...which I would call "Quirky Strong Style"

I'm looking forward to my boys SAni†Y kicking the shit out of the
Overrated Era next week.

(I know they aren't getting the wins...& that's fine)

I like NXT.

This week's show was good and simply flew by.

- The opening segment was good and set up the ME nicely.

- Heavy Machinery vs Moss & Sabbatelli was solid. The post-match angle with Moss refusing to shake Tino's hand was interesting. Man, I don't know, I don't think they should be causing dissension between them just yet. They have a potential as a team, tbh and it'd be better if they had them achieve more as a team before splitting them up, but we'll see how this goes.

- Gargano/Candice/Andrade/Vega segment was good. Adding a stipulation that should Gargano lose, he leaves NXT for good is interesting, but it also has to mean he'll finally win the title this time around, right? However, where does Ciampa fit in all of this? Surely Gargano can't leave NXT until the match with Ciampa happens. This is very interesting and I'm looking forward to seeing where it goes.

- Shayna's promo was alright. We're getting Shayna vs Ember for the title next week.

- We're getting Roddy vs Dunne next week. Looking forward to it.

- Bate's backstage promo was okay.

- Bianca Belair squash was amusing enough. Bianca is a star in the making.

- Sanity vs The Undisputed Era was a fun ME. It was tornado style 6-man tag and it was chaotic and fun.
