So how does everyone feel about this idea of a 16 team playoff system that could happen? I think it just opens up the flood gates for some horrible teams like the Jets this year to get into the playoffs and just waste time. It is also dumb to me because as much as Goodell loves to act like he cares for player safety I don't see how making more games supports that theory.

Was reading about this earlier, i don't like it to be honest. The current format works, no need for change right now.

Unfortunately the end of the season is coming up, so where does everybody rank this season? Was pretty disappointed in the Raiders, i know i shouldn't have went into the season with high hopes but i did, and it sucks that they're one of the worst teams in the NFL.

In a way I like the idea of 16 teams in the playoffs because that way every divisional champion will get a first round bye, which makes sense considering the teams that play in weaker divisions usually have the best records. Then again, I'm definitely not crazy about teams like the Jets and the Browns being playoff teams under those same stipulations. But I would definitely be willing to give it a try and see how it works for a couple seasons. It's not like bad teams don't already sneak into the playoffs. The Seahawks and Chiefs made that clear the past few seasons, ignoring the fact Seahawks are actually good this year.

From how I understood it all 16 teams played in the first round, there were no byes.

When the Bears were 7-1, and everybody was raving about their Superbowl chances, I said see how they look once they'd played a good team. Now they look like they might miss out on playoffs.

Not exactly a tie. The Skins still have the better division record and the tie-breaker over us. BUT... the Giants could very well miss the playoffs if they lose to Philly. I am a HUGE Philly fan next week. Get McCoy back and get in that ass, Eagles.
