Using last years date as a guide, that would put the May event the night before K&QOTR in Saudi and the July event around a week after MITB

These could just be placeholders as the rest of the PLEs aren't on there either. But We will assume these are legit.

Yeah they're running it the same time as All In. But they're not running against Double Or Nothing as Double or Nothing hasn't been announced yet. No company owns any dates, especially before announcing an event. And if they did every other company should get away from WrestleMania instead of flocking to it (including Ring Of Honor)

Is it a dick move? Possibly. But WWE isn't scheduling these shows alone. NBC schedules these based on their schedules. Running Memorial Day Weekend makes sense as they don't want to run their regular shows at that time as most people are away and not watching TV.

NBC cannot air the shows between August and early December due to NCAA Football commitments. The contract calls for 4 SNME shows a year. So 4 between Mid/Late December and Late August (in addition to their regular scheduled Saturday programming and other live sports they air on Saturdays).

Next year will be even tougher to schedule for NBC as they'll have NBA basketball too (regular season games won't be on NBC on Saturdays but Playoff games could be).

TL/DR: Out of the 2 dates rumored, 1 of them is piggybacking off AEW. The other is not piggybacking off anything given there's nothing announced. But it's not just WWE making the decision as the TV rightsholder makes the schedule.

forbidden door is the august ppv

@Storm Trooper - no one owns a weekend but it has always been labour day weekend so I think it is a bit naive to think WWE is not counter programming. AEW just hasn't annouced the date yet, but they know what they are doing. I disagree this is not intentional.

Company’s, WWE and others, have been putting shows against each other for all of time, there’s nothing new or surprising with it.

I don’t know why you’re getting so upset about it, it’s life.

not sure why you are assuming emotion. The promoter that counter-books has traditionally also been seen as a villain. It's certainly a dirty tactic. The fact it's been done in the past does not make it morally ok to everyone. If you find it ok, that's fine. Seems pretty arrogant to tell people how they should feel about it.

Counter booking wasn't really ever done until Vince threatened PPV providers they couldn't have Mania if they didn't show Survivor Series the same night as Starrcade lol Just running the same weekend is innocent compared to that, but that's what your "tradition" you're defending is built off of lmao It's not a big deal, idk why they means you can't point out how petty and silly it is.

Memorial day weekend is whatever, you're the hotter promotion, you kind of have the benefit of getting first dibs on any date you want, especially holiday weekends. Double or Nothing is also on a Sunday, I don't think WWE cares about hurting AEW in that case

All In having been announced almost a full year in advance, already having ticket sales, etc, lol you guys are doing mental gymnastics if you think that didn't play a factor in the date.

Saying "this is how it's always been" when WWE does something they invented and people point it out is just propaganda brain lmao it's baffling how many people default right to it instead of just not caring about this thing they're arguing isn't a big deal but they have to make sure the giant billion dollar copeation is properly defended against the little fans online that hate them lmao

Comparing to Mania is especially baffling. People want WWE to be a victim so bad they're comparing a bigger company running the same night as a smaller one to....smaller companies literally piggybacking off of a bigger one for higher attendance? Think before you defend please
