It was actually even more insidious than just showing series on the same night. Any cable provider that showed Starcade all wasn’t allowed to have wrestlemania the following year.Counter booking wasn't really ever done until Vince threatened PPV providers they couldn't have Mania if they didn't show Survivor Series the same night as Starrcade lol Just running the same weekend is innocent compared to that, but that's what your "tradition" you're defending is built off of lmao It's not a big deal, idk why they means you can't point out how petty and silly it is.
Memorial day weekend is whatever, you're the hotter promotion, you kind of have the benefit of getting first dibs on any date you want, especially holiday weekends. Double or Nothing is also on a Sunday, I don't think WWE cares about hurting AEW in that case
All In having been announced almost a full year in advance, already having ticket sales, etc, lol you guys are doing mental gymnastics if you think that didn't play a factor in the date.
Saying "this is how it's always been" when WWE does something they invented and people point it out is just propaganda brain lmao it's baffling how many people default right to it instead of just not caring about this thing they're arguing isn't a big deal but they have to make sure the giant billion dollar copeation is properly defended against the little fans online that hate them lmao
There’s a funny interview on one of the documentaries of Vince McMahon looking like a wounded puppy when he’s talking about how Turner owned his own television station and he could’ve put nitro on any night he wanted to, but he intentionally put it on Monday night because he wanted to hurt Vince McMahon. His pleas for sympathy might’ve worked if I didn’t remember that he started it.yes Nitro tried and we're certainly painted as villains by wwe for it as well - to this day even in their own docos
The funny thing too is nobody remembers that he actually bought out the Saturday night time slot from GCW behind one of the owners backs and then try to put a recap show on Turner’s television stations against his wishes. Everything that plagued WWF was usually his own fault including Turner even getting into the business.
