Re: NBA Regular Season Discussion Thread

If Dwight ever leaves, he will pull a Shaq:

Sign and trade for Bynum outright and Orlando will have to deal with it since that is the best they can get with their cap situation

As pissed off as I would, I definitely would not be shocked. I really don't know where he will go since end of 2011 is a while away, but he will definitely opt out and leave Orlando if Orlando can't make the finals in the next 2 seasons.

Re: NBA Regular Season Discussion Thread

Orlando's biggest need wasn't perimeter D, it was perimeter scoring. Vince hasn't been scoring, Lewis sucked ass and all Q was good for is open threes. In comes Hedo, J-Rich & Arenas, who are all able to score. Hedo will get back on track, considering the only system he's had success in is this one.

You guys have a MAJOR lack in perimeter defense even before this trade, it is even worse now. I can't see them competing against the Heat for that reason. Yes you got better offensively, but the defense will be horrendous.

Re: NBA Regular Season Discussion Thread

I wouldn't say that they got worse overall.

Their perimeter rotation improved because Rashard Lewis sucked ass without the roids to improve his recovery time and help his body heal after games, VC was just a pussy outright and there is nothing that J-Rich doesn't do better, and Turk essentially makes it so that Q-Rich and Duhon won't see the court (what a waste of the MLE when you look back on the fact Barnes and Williams were better than them last year).

Yeah they need a backup big behind Bass and Dwight, but they can pass Ryan Anderson off in the meanwhile for 15-20 minutes a night with one of those 2 always on the court.

Fitting response. Should have added wanting to kick Suns management in the balls too but yeah.

Any chance of them moving Nash as well and just completely starting over?

You're telling me that Richardson, Arenas and Hedo are worse defenders than Vince, Lewis and Pietrus? Vince and Lew are some of the worst at their positions.

I'm half way expecting it to be honest. I of course hope not since that team can't do shit without him. If Dragic was further along in his development I would be more open to it but right now they shouldn't.

Pietrus was your best perimeter defender, Vince and Lewis are poor, but Richardson, Arenas, and Hedo all suck at defense as well.

I agree, I just feel like it is inevitable. Plenty of teams will be calling come February

Re: NBA Regular Season Discussion Thread

Billups, Nash, and Baron in a 3 way deal perhaps. Baron goes to Phoenix, Nash goes to Denver to try and get Melo to stay, and Billups gets bought out by Sterling. :perv:

You guys have a MAJOR lack in perimeter defense even before this trade, it is even worse now. I can't see them competing against the Heat for that reason. Yes you got better offensively, but the defense will be horrendous.

Arenas isn't as bad as Duhon or VC on that end as he will likely split time at PG and SG with Reddick getting some run. J-Rich is a better defender than Q and VC at SG and SF (except against Kobe); he isn't better than Pietrius, granted. Turk is better at everything on the floor than Lewis and Q combined at any perimeter spot.

They need a backup C, but at the end of the day their perimeter defense is in no way worse with Hedo and Richardson starting over Lewis and Carter, or with Gilbert off the bench for that matter. Plus Orlando runs a matchup zone with Dwight manning the middle so if anything they will just pack the paint and make Lebron shoot like they did in the ECF when he only made 2 jumpshots in one game.

I don't even like having to defend Gilbert and those guys that much, but in no way are they that much worse defensively on the perimeter now.

Re: NBA Regular Season Discussion Thread

Q is a pretty good defender ^

Pietrus was your best perimeter defender, Vince and Lewis are poor, but Richardson, Arenas, and Hedo all suck at defense as well.

Richardson & Hedo are capable defenders, though. They're better than Vince & Lewis. Pietrus was the best defender, but Q will step into his role as defender/3 point man and do what he did fine. Q's an above-average defender, if you weren't aware.
