I asked a bunch of people yesterday IRL about it. Some agreed with you, but plenty agreed with me. Depends who you ask.
I wouldn't trust my IRL friends to know shit. Real GM has smart fans who watch all teams. If they lean heavy one way or the other it will be telling.

Maybe I mis-spoke when I said it's a widely considered agreement. It's not as obvious as you're making it out to be, or me as well. I just prefer it my way ofc

I'm fine with you preferring Melo if you like him more, but I just take issue with you thinking that is widely accepted. It definitely isn't man. I'd say up to 3/4 of all fans would take Curry right now

Obviously I feel strongly about Curry being the better player, I don't mean to be a dick or be confrontational but that's how I come off. I just really, really can't see an argument for Melo

It's all gravy. What you've said is nothing compared to what my friends have said to me when discussing sports. You would think we hate each other. I just like discussing sports though.

I see one guy said Curry. I wish the question was more "Who is the better overall player" A lot of people will take a PG to start a squad, but it's cool.

Foye stuffed the stat sheet for me last night.
12 pts, 1 blk, 2 stls, 3 ast, 5 rbd, 2 three pts.
Not bad for a quick fill in. Batum didn't really have the kind of night I was expecting but he got me some stats.

I'm down 3-5 but I have a full line-up tonight compared to the guys 3 players so I should be able to come away with the win.

Really? I feel like the opposite if anything. There are a ton of great PGs in the league right now...

Curry, Paul, Westbrook, Rose, Parker, Rondo, Kyrie, Dragic, Lawson, Lillard, D-Will, Lowry, Wall, Conley.. I think people tend to value forwards more. A lot of hardcore fans discredit PGs as well by pointing out how teams whose success are built off great PG play rarely win rings. Stockton, Payton, Kidd, Nash never won rings as 'the guy' and now guys like Paul are elite PGs that can't even sniff the NBA finals.

You think? I guess the thought is you need someone to facilitate the ball. I guess a "B" point guard can feed the Forward, but the good forwards can take it up the court themselves at times. I guess we will see, but still wish the question was who is the better overall player right now. Melo is only 29, but i'm sure that will be a factor.

No, It really won't. If I was him I'd split too.

If you think people would take Curry over melo starting a squad, you're in fantasy land, not me.
I just thought that's what you wanted based on this quote^ "starting a squad"

It might make it a little closer debate but I still can't see the argument. I mean ffs Curry's rebounding average this season is only 2 behind Melo's career average lmao. He's a 6'2 185 PG ffs

Hey, unless you have a RealGM account from 2012, this guy agrees with you:

Melo, because he is a better player, a better scorer. He can score outside and inside the paint. How can you even compare Melo with Curry?

Maybe it is closer than I'm giving it credit for.
