According to The Wrestling Observer, Rey Mysterio is once again out with an injury, but this time it's not knee related. Mysterio is reportedly sidelined with a hand injury, and there's no word on when he is expected to return to the ring.
In related news, WWE is planning to re-sign Mysterio to a new deal once his current contract expires, but for once, in a longtime, Mysterio's merchandise sales numbers are not near the top.
Not a surprise.

He needs to try and get healthy & have a nice farewell tour.

Mysterio needs to be used as a special attraction and used for latino markets and PPVs that need a shot in the arm.

Only pride can be driving him on this point. Am sure he has plenty of money saved away, and has nothing left to prove. If I was him I would call it a day, and enjoy life away from the ring, with maybe the odd one-off none wrestling appearance.

What about love of the business?

^ Is love the business worth ruining your life over. The guy has already given enough of his life to wrestling.

He may have enough money to continue living out his life, but I highly doubt he has enough to set up each of his children for their lives, to a devout roman catholic, his daughters wedding alone could break his bank account.

There is no such thing as "enough money" people with no money say that type of shit. We also don't have the right to tell someone to give up something they love doing, as we fund it and enable them by watching. We won't pay his bills, won't pay their kids college or whatever else he is saving for. He can go as long as he wants, that's all on him. He is still the great underdog and one of the industries biggest overachievers and success stories.

If WWE kept writing you checks while you were benched with injuries, I'm sure you guys would carry on accepting them.

I mean I'll be the first to admit that Rey doesn't entertain me very much anymore even when he's not injured, but I have nothing against the guy wanting to keep going as long as he can. It's not ridiculous age-wise like Flair or anything. I personally do think he should at least consider retirement, but it's not like it's my choice.

Let's all tell everyone with 25 years of experience in any job field to quit their jobs, they ain't as good as they once were, because you have a legacy to hold onto.....Because legacy pays bills and feeds your family.
