Munsters remake Mockingbird Lane

This is supposed to be a remake of the Munsters but from the preview it doesn't really look to have that much in common with it.

To me it looks like it has a bunch in common with it. I think all you need is the family and it looks like they have that. Not saying its any good though. From what I've heard, it was supposed to be a pilot for a show but NBC didn't like it so they're just putting it out as a special event. I think they still have an option to order a season but I think it's already dead unless they get good ratings.

I've heard it's just the legit pilot for a new series. Having a family of monsters living in plain sight doesn't really make the show for me. And to change the father from an stereotypical frankenstien (yeah i just typed that) to a pretty boy with scars um well sad.

It is a legit pilot but its not a new series. Not yet at least. But a family of monsters is pretty much the entire premise. It doesn't look any good. I don't think I've ever seen Jerry O'Connell be funny. Maybe in Piranha but that was way different. Eddie Izzard might be this thing only saving grace.

At first glance I thought the grandfather was Butch Patrick(which would have explained how the family are all new Monsters, being generations since the last show) but then I IMDB'd it, and found out that Jerry O'Connel is playing Herman(Patrick Warburton would have been the best option).

Portia De Rossi playing Lilly is about the only thing I really like about the new casting, being a Twilight Zone alumni & starring in one of my favorite B-movies Dead & Breakfast.

Being a lifelong Munsters fan, I will be checking this show out. But if there is any success in it at all, expect a new Addams Family to be right around the corner.

It's very similar the addams family was a comic strip before it and the Munsters (the show this is based off of) were both made into television series in 1964.

The original was similar to beverly hillbillies but with monsters.
