While it's completely correct that that climax of a moment for Wardlow would be gone... at the end of the day, he would get an even bigger, positive fallout from it, if it actually goes down like this. ...and yes, it does ruin a huge build-up and it will be heckin' disappointing especially for Wardlow.
...if we are talking about a legit problem happening.
It seems that if MJF is legit acting like this, it may be a case of the amount of fame (and probably future stardom sparkles in his eyes) got to his head. I don't know anything about how the AEW contracts look (especially the differences between, for example, Mox & Punk contract against MJFs, but if it actually is a big difference and it's still that 2019 contract MJF signed, I can understand that he wants more from it (Even without an extension, since his contract runs out in over 18 months.), after what he put in and how he became one of AEW's most recognizable guys.
That, of course, doesn't excuse these actions (if, again, they are legit). It's shitty behavior against the Fans, Wardlow, AEW and all other workers on the roster, especially because of the timing. (Although... the timing might be why he's doing it, too.)
All in all I think people should keep their fucking feet still, see what happens on the PPV and afterwards discussions can and probably should be held. Right now this buzz feels like it could end up looking bad in the grand scheme of things, if MJF is showing up for the PPV.
