I hope the Cowboys get a good offensive line earlier in this universe instead of waiting until the second best quarterback in franchise history is at the end of his career.
I think what's more impressive is the fact that the Browns are 3-4... and still control the AFC North by a wide margin. :TI:

Regular Season Week 9:
Vikings Win Wild Game Against Texans, 16-14

920x920.jpg

(Adrian Peterson getting tackled)
The Minnesota Vikings come back from the bye with a huge win over the Houston Texans, 16-14. It was a battle of turnovers as Daunte Culpepper threw three interceptions, and the Minnesota Defense hauled in two takeaways in the form of fumble recoveries and an interception. Culpepper struggled to get anything done in the air as he was 9/18 for 92 yards and the aforementioned interceptions. Adrian Peterson however, had another 100+ yard day as he ran 18 times for 108 yards and a touchdown.

On the defensive side of the ball, EJ Henderson forced a fumble that led to fellow Linebacker Ben Leber scooping it up for a turnover. The lone interception of the game came from Antoine Winfield making a leaping catch after jumping the receiver's route. Darren Sharper and Ben Leber had the lone sacks on Matt Schaub. Despite these stats, the defense did well to keep the Texans from scoring in the second half after a rough first half start.

Passing:
Daunte Culpepper - 9/18, 92 Yards, 3 INTs

Rushing:
Adrian Peterson - 18, 108 Yards, 1 TD

Receiving:
Bernard Berrian - 3, 13 Yards
Chris Henry - 2, 34 Yards

Defense:
Ben Leber - 1 Sack, 1 FR
Darren Sharper - 1 Sack
Antoine Winfield - 1 INT
EJ Henderson - 1 FF

Regular Season Week 10

Packers Shock Vikings, 24-14

4c82ec632d156.image.jpg

The Minnesota Vikings came home to the Metrodome to a loss to the Green Bay Packers. For the Vikings, it was turnover city as Daunte Culpepper threw three interceptions and fumbled once, one of those interceptions going to Will Blackmon, who ran it for a touchdown late in the fourth quarter as the Vikings were rallying. Peterson was stuffed 25 times for only 74 yards, and in one of the most bizarre plays in NFL History since the infamous "Holy Roller", Left Guard Steve Hutchinson recovered a fumble, gained one yard, and scored a touchdown, his first ever NFL touchdown and one of the only times an Offensive Lineman has recovered a fumble for a touchdown. Chris Henry was the highlight today on the receiving side as he caught 6 balls for 56 yards.

Defensively, the Vikings gave up a lot of yards to QB Brian Brohm and allowed two touchdowns and a field goal. Jared Allen, Pat Williams, and Chad Greenway each had a sack, as Darren Sharper and Cedric Griffin had an interception on Brohm. For the Vikings, this loss leaves them at 6-3, and still in the NFC North lead.
Passing:
Daunte Culpepper - 14/29, 150 Yards, 1 TD, 3 INTS, 1 FUM

Rushing:
Adrian Peterson - 25, 74 Yards
Steve Hutchinson - 1 FR, 1 Yard, 1 TD

Receiving:
Chris Henry - 6, 56 Yards
Bernard Berrian - 4, 43 Yards
Thomas Tapeh - 2, 30 Yards, 1 TD

Defense:
Jared Allen - 1 Sack
Pat Williams - 1 Sack
Chad Greenway - 1 Sack
Darren Sharper - 1 INT
Cedric Griffin - 1 INT

Regular Season Week 11

Vikings Upset by 2-7 Buccaneers, lose 3-29

Warrick+Dunn+Minnesota+Vikings+v+Tampa+Bay+Bh25WE53EzBl.jpg

(Warrick Dunn Preparing to Break off a Big Run)
Coming off their home loss to the Green Bay Packers the week prior, the Minnesota Vikings walked into Ray James Stadium in Tampa Bay, Florida, and walked out humiliated by the 2-7 Buccaneers, 3-29. A menagerie of mishap and mayhem plagued the team as a whole, from coaching to the kicking. Daunte Culpepper was knocked out of the game halfway through, but only managed to muster 6/14, 85 yards, and a horrendous 3 Interceptions. In replacement, Tavaris Jackson did only marginally better, going 4/8 for 42 yards.

Adrian Peterson failed to run the ball much, rushing 14 times for 46 yards. In the receiving game, Bernard Berrian and Bobby Wade were the only receivers of consequence, hauling in 4 catches for 47 yards, and 3 catches for 43 yards, respectively. On defense, the Vikings failed to make a single sack, fumble, or interception on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Kevin Williams had the lone standout performance as he garnered 7 tackles as a whole.

Following this humiliating performance, there have been rumors and grumblings from the Vikings locker room and upper management that Childress may be fired if things get worse. Fran Tarkenton, PR Representative for the Vikings, was terse in regards to questions about the coaching staff, "... The fact is, we don't know. You'll know in due time what our plans are, but for now, the coaching staff is in the hot seat after this game. You cannot give up games against teams like the Buccaneers." The Vikings now move to 6-4 and 2nd place in the NFC North behind the Bears.

Passing:
Daunte Culpepper - 6/14, 85 Yards, 3 INTs
Tavaris Jackson - 4/8, 42 Yards

Rushing:
Adrian Peterson - 14, 46 Yards

Receiving:
Bernard Berrian - 4, 47 Yards
Bobby Wade - 3, 43 Yards

Defense:

Kevin Williams - 7 Tackles

Regular Season Week 12:
Vikings Lose to Garrard Led Jaguars in Overtime, 13-16

I0000IGhSbzxRHt0.jpg

(Peterson taking off on a big run)
The Minnesota Vikings' losing streak continues with a debilitating overtime loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars, 13-16. It was the failure of the kicking team that led to the downfall of Minnesota's powering attack, as Ryan Longwell missed two key kicks, both that would have won Minnesota the football game. The first came late in the third that helped the Jaguars to drive back and tie the game, and the second came in overtime as Longwell missed a 51 yard field goal try. He ended the day 2/4 with the longest being 48 yards out. On offense, it was a pedestrian showing, as Daunte Culpepper, who's struggles of late led to Minnesota's humiliating loss to the Buccaneers, went 18/30, 185 Yards, and 1 touchdown and 1 interception, he did rush for 41 yards however, showing that when Daunte has time, he can run the ball well. Adrian Peterson had a great game, rushing 31 times for 109 yards. Chris Henry was also a highlight show, catching 9 passes for 103 yards.

Defensively, the Vikings were a force to be reckoned with, as David Garrard was sacked 3 times by Jared Allen, Ray Edwards, and Ben Leber, and was intercepted once by Chad Greenway. Pat Williams also forced a fumble against Maurice Jones-Drew, which Antoine Winfield picked up and nearly took to the house. Head Coach Brad Childress blames the loss on a failure to execute, saying, "The kicking game should have been more on point, but we should have been more aggressive, not just settling for field goals when we could." Childress' seat continues to be hotter and hotter as the losses pile up.

Passing:
Daunte Culpepper - 18/30, 185 Yards, 1/1

Rushing:
Adrian Peterson - 31, 109 Yards
Daunte Culpepper - 4, 41 Yards

Receiving:
Chris Henry - 9, 103 Yards

Defense:
Jared Allen - 1 Sack
Ray Edwards - 1 Sack
Ben Leber - 1 Sack
Chad Greenway - 1 INT
Pat Williams - 1 FF
Antoine Winfield - 1 FR

Kicking:
Ryan Longwell - 2/4, Long 48
