Vikings Win 1st Place Against Lions, 21-48 Adrian Peterson Running Wild The Minnesota Vikings have staked their claim on the NFC North title in 2008 as they hosted the Detroit Lions and de-fanged them, 21-48. Adrian Peterson had a break out day, running 31 times for 189 yards and three touchdowns, and hauling in a catch for 61 yards and a touchdown. Daunte Culpepper didn't have a field day, but with Peterson going wild, threw 10/13. 217 Yards, and 2 TDs. Bernard Berrian caught 3 balls for 59 Yards and a TD. The Lions utilized the talents of young wide receiver Calvin Johnson, but was not enough as Jon Kitna threw three interceptions, two to Darren Sharper (who also ran one back for a touchdown), and another to Marcus McCauley. While Kitna wasn't sacked, the second game in the Vikings season in which they didn't sack a QB, he was strong-armed and pushed into throwing into pressure several times. The Vikings move into first place of the NFC North for the first time this season and hope to hold on tightly to the lead as they head to Chicago next week. |

Pretty certain. I may have to up the difficulty, to be honest, but Daunte having an Awareness of 80 is probably why he's doing so well despite having worse base stats than Jackson. Are you sure you aren't playing these games now after those first two losses

It does, but I'm doing coach mode, which is you playing the game in real time but not controlling the players actions. So I think upping the difficulty will allow for some closer games.I didn't think upping the difficulty did anything if you weren't playing. I thought it made all computer controlled players play differently including your team if you weren't controlling them but idk
October 15th, 2008 Adrian Peterson Named NFL Player of the Week The NFL has given the weekly award for Player of the Week to the Minnesota Vikings' 2nd year Running Back Adrian Peterson. In his game with division rivals Detroit, Peterson rushed 31 times for 189 yards and 3 touchdowns, while also catching 1 pass for 61 yards and a touchdown. Despite a slow start on the ground, Adrian Peterson is climbing his way up the charts as one of the best running backs in the league. If he can continue his hot streak, he may gain the rushing title one year after winning Rookie of the Year in 2007. For Minnesota, the development of the lethal running game is a saving grace for QB Daunte Culpepper; it will give the 2008 MVP candidate a chance to rest his arm a little more to keep it lethal. According to Fran Tarkenton, PR Representative for the Vikings ownership, "He reminds a bit of [Chuck] Foreman, a big tough dude who will run through everyone. He's a special player, and I hope he stays with us for a long time." |
Vikings Scrape By Bears 7-3 (Adrian Peterson juking Hunter Hillenmeyer and bracing for a Hunter Payne hit) The Minnesota Vikings walk into the bye week 5-2 after defeating the Chicago Bears in an extremely brutal defensive battle. Daunte Culpepper was totally exposed as the Bears backfield had a field day with him, intercepting him twice and only allowing seven total completions for no touchdowns and 88 yards. Adrian Peterson demolished the defense with his powerful running, rushing 18 times for 112 yards and the lone touchdown of the game. Despite the flaccid passing game, Bernard Berrian flashed his ability, hauling in two catches for 48 yards. On the defensive side of the ball, the Vikings did enough to prevent the Bears from getting into the endzone. Kevin Williams got the lone sack on Rex Grossman, as Marcus McCaulley also hauled in an interception on him. Many people are considering this to the arguably the worst game of the season for both teams. |
