Fletcher's pace was never really an asset for him though? Still I'm not surprised he's weaker after that injury, so horrible for the guy. He was one of the best defensive CMs in the world prior to it.
Rafael? Seriously? I remembered him being dodgy as hell lol. Evra seems like he's still good at attacking but just shaky defensively. With regards to Ferdinand I can kind of see why Fergie still plays him, I wouldn't myself but is he not a kind of leader at the back?
If you're looking for composed passers then you might as well go Scholes IMO, he's a better passer than Carrick and he's probably not that much slower. Not sure if he can do 90 minutes now though I guess, especially against shitty.
Not really a factor on why he was good, but it made it easier for hmi to do the things he was good at, if that makes sense. Fletcher was a battler, a warrior, he pressed and won the ball better than most. He was grossly underrated and I'm marking out that you hold him in the same high regard I did too. His injury was a disease and it took him ages to recover, he's not at his best yet at all.
And yeah Rafael is still sometimes dodgy, he does silly things and gets yellow cards but he ALWAYS tries more than any other player, he's committed, he presses, he goes forward, he's brave, he's a great tackler, he's been our best player behind RVP probably. I know right, if I said this last year I'd be like :haha:
Scholes is a better passer, he's the best in the BPL, but he's 39. He can't do the job Carrick can do unfortunately. I don't see Scholes tussling with Yaya, though I don't see Carrick doing that either :haha:

Nobody dominates him. Carroll > all
I gave Xanth some Carrol a couple nights ago. Scored 4 goals against him with the beast.
