Awake without going crazy/cranky.

Just wanted to know how long people on this forum can stay awake without losing it, some people just cannot function without their beauty sleep every night, I wanted to know how long you guys can function without some shut eye. (And by function, I mean not just be conscious and perform sedentary jobs like browse the internet...I mean alert enough to drive a four wheeler/motorcycle, or whatever you guys use to commute. Work and study, etc)

While the maximum that I've stayed awake is somewhere around 40-44 hours, (With the help of medication mind you) I had lost higher mental faculties pretty much 24-26 hours into it, and was awake pretty much for the heck of it. I've been awake for the past 24 hours atm and I feel as if I've had a couple of beers or something. Yeah, I feel tipsy with not a single drop of alcohol in my body. Strange.

What about you guys?

Chris

3 days, it wasn't the tiredness that killed me as much as the fact I looked like shit.

I lasted about 44 hours... but I messed myself up cause I laid down and wound up falling asleep. Prob could have went two whole days. I mean I was fine. Just a lil drowsy at the 42nd hour.

The longest I've gone was around 36 hours.

Though I gotta say, I probably could have went much longer. Once I pass the 24-hour mark, I don't even feel drowsy anymore. Everything just looks and seems so fake, like nothing means anything and you don't care about anything. And time moves by much quicker. In some ways, things seem easier. Then when I finally do make an effort to sleep, it feels so over-hyped and forced and it's actually not as easy as you'd think it would be. Then you crash into a coma and regardless of how long you sleep, you feel like complete shit when you wake up.

I stayed awake one time for 78 hours.

I was "loopy" after 36 hours, but had hours where I was clear and able to completely function normally

Will remember next time. I hate that pain meds don't do shit for me. Not oxy, not Vicodin, not Tylenol 3, not morphine. I remember getting my wisdom teeth pulled and being up and feeling that shit the whole time. Was awful

I'm not very good at staying up consecutive hours straight. If I'm hard pressed to get something done, I'll take a couple hour long naps throughout the days until we need to finish what we need to get done. I also never get cranky for some reason. I just don't ever tend to be in a bad mood but my eyes do get really dry and red. That's the worst part but I haven't had to do anything like that in awhile.
